Then the problem might be Super Mario 64 HD v8

I've patched the loader to make this nsp compatible (you need syspatch in order to get it working):

Sometime in May did you watch Nintendo Direct? New features. Look like big job for SciresM to update new Atmosphere
Love this tweet from SciresM:

”It's very funny to me that the most exciting news (for me) in that Nintendo Direct was "a major system update is releasing in late April" -- now I can plan to not be traveling!

I think I have an idea what the third fs patch for 19 fw does and when it matters

so if I only have the first 2 patches, things work fine, no problem, xci will run. but if you do a corrupted data check on that game, it will say it found corrupted data (normal I think)

on fw 10-18 we had only the first two patches and it was fine even if I did a corrupted data check, it would say it found corrupted data of course but I could still just go back to the main menu and run the game, or at least I dont remember that ever being a problem?

on fw19 if I do a corrupted data check but I only have the first 2 patches, then I can't run the game anymore no matter what. it will appear to run, go into the black screen, then instead of loading it gives the black screen with the [!] and the error message that the game could not run. the os remembers that corrupted data was found and that the data is invalid, and will refuse to run the game until you reinstall it

but if I have the third patch, I can run corrupted data check on the game, it will say it found corrupted data (again, normal I think), but I can go back to the main menu and run the game and it works fine

so if you avoid doing the corrupted data check on installed xci games, you are fine with just the first two patches, but the third patch will be needed if you ever run the corrupted data check

so it's probably not an extra check against piracy, but rather an extra check to prevent actually corrupted games from loading (because of corrupted sd card or whatever), but because xci installed as digital gets seen as corrupted data, it ends up affecting that too

btw the only reason why xci will show corrupted data when you do a corrupted data check is because many converters don't bother updating the cnmt with the new nca hashes

dbi does it right, when you install a xci it rewrites the cnmt with the new hashes for the converted ncas. so when you do a check for corrupted data, it gives no errors, because the hashes are correct

some other converters might do it right too (I dont know about nsc builder or switch army knife), but I know that tinfoil only does the bare mininum, so the cnmt stays untouched and it will show corrupted data if you run the check on a xci installed with tinfoil

maybe more testing should be done to confirm, but if my thinking is right then the third patch isn't useful if you just convert your files correctly. then if you get crashes in game that you arent sure about you can do a corrupted data check in data management, and it can actually tell you if your files are corrupted instead of giving a false positive every time

Something is cooking, 50 emails from GitHub Atmosphère repo in one second!!!! is a June 15th coming?

guys, games like Xenoblade chronicles x definitive edition and Donkey Kong returns remastered won't start up for me. All my others do. It gets stuck on a black screen and then shows an error. Is it possible my console firmware is out of date?

I dunno, you know what firmware you have.
Anyway, latest fw + latest sys-patch and Xenoblade X starts for me.
Haven't used any sigpatches for fws 18 and 19 personally, just sys-patch.

No issues running either of those two games, just like in Ethelbert's case. Firmware 19.0.1, Atmosphere 1.8.0, sys-patch 1.5.6 (by bth) or 1.5.5 (by impeeza) should do the trick for sigpatches. If you're on the latest and greatest versions of all the before-mentioned apps, the only other thing that I could suggest is to try a clean Atmosphere/Hekate/sys-patch install and, from that moment forward, do not use any all-in-one packs and updaters. Update your CFW files manually.

Other than that, try going into maintenance mode in order to clear cache. Sometimes that fixes the software refusing to start. Here's how:
  1. Make sure that your Internet connection is disabled if you're connected right now and remove any saved connections as well (unless you have DNS MITM in place).
  2. Turn off your console (when in home menu, hold the power button for a few seconds and select power off).
  3. Right before you send your fusse.bin payload, hold volume + and volume - at the same time. Keep holding until you get into maintenance mode (you'll see Atmosphere bootlogo first, Switch logo after that one). After a while your Switch should enter into the maintenance mode. At this point the cache is cleared as well as any pending update you don't need to press and/or select anything.
  4. Press the power button once again. It'll shut down the console.
  5. Boot into CFW the way you usually do and make sure to activate flight mode. (Connecting to the Internet is safe only if you have DNS MITM in place.)
  6. Check if the problematic game works now.
If not, try reinstalling the game with the latest RU version of the DBI.

If you still can't get either of those two games to work, apparently there's a workaround for it. For Xenoblade Chronicles X, you can convert the XCI file into NSP file by using the NSC_Builder tool. XCI version of the game comes with the v1.0.1 update. Maybe you can apply the same thing to the Donkey Kong game.

I might try going into maintenance mode. By the way, my switch firmware is 16.0.3. Haven't updated it since installing atmosphere. Those two games are the only ones that don't work though, newer ones like Mario and Luigi Brothership work just fine. I just don't wanna risk trying to update my switch if I don't need to because i'm pretty sure that can cause some issues.
