I was wondering if, in case I get banned, it would be enough to modify the Switch with Picofly to be able to download updates from the store again, or if once banned, not even the hardware modification can access the store.
Sadly, once the console is banned, it's banned for good. If you mod your console, you can either use a free Tinfoil shop or download updates from certain websites that host them and install them via installer of your choice.

everyone says that the modchip is more convenient than the MIG, but with the MIG I simply have to insert it and I can play everything, while with the modchip, in addition to the hardware modification, there's also software to install and more.
In short: Modchip allows you to run CFW on your system which opens a lot of options that MIG Switch never will. You can even play online on a clean sysNAND and keep the homebrew and pirated stuff on your emuNAND. With MIG Switch, however, you're pretty limited to whatever games you have in your personal library or whichever games are publicly available. Sadly, using publicly available games carry a high risk of getting your console banned, especially those with mixed certs or incomplete dumps which will certainly get you banned.

I've made this and this post about using MIG Switch for piracy. CFW is much safer but requires opening up the console and installing the modchip. The quality of modchips vary as well as skills of the person that installs them. If you get a quality modchip installed by a professional, you shouldn't run into a problem.

ok so basically if my switch gets banned, i can modchip it and then use tinfoil to download updates.

however i'm already set with basically every game i want, I don't know if there are more games coming in the future considering switch 2 is coming out. For sure Pokemon A-Z but then I think nothing else

you can mod your console even if you are not banned and is best to do it if you are going to use seven seas software.

It's been a while since I check UnlockSwitch's Twitter, seems like they've posted this the other day:

Alright, the “ UnlockSwitch ” brand stays the same! Only our team’s name will be announced.

We won’t give our detractors the satisfaction—save your energy, we’re in this for the long haul. Our batteries are fully charged, so stay strong. A lot is happening behind the scenes, worldwide.

We don’t need likes, followers, or pre-orders.

All we ask for is patience—nothing more.We know exactly what we’re building, and when the time comes, the impact will be massive.

We’ve also noticed that our posts can be long and tiring to read—our bad. So, we’ll start making more videos instead.

So... nothing new? At the very least, no more long posts.
The product is probably delayed indefinitely, not even an update about whether they've found someone to help them out with the software side of things.

Who knows anymore.

Unlock has an account and is lurking here tho so who knows maybe they will break silence one day

If it is great, I’m excited to try it and write up some tutorials but only time will tell I guess

Find anything interesting in that hardware you posted?
I no longer have the time. The AAA game company I worked for laid off their entire US remote team...so I dont have much time/funds until a new recruiter hopefully looks at my resume
Post automatically merged:

Now that’s a nice MIG

Any thoughts on the new virtual game cards? Do you think it could be compatible in someway with MigFlash? Might be a stupid a question, but someone had to ask.

Even if that were true, what does that do? I guess you could dump digital games to a mig switch but why would you do that when you already had the digital game?
He might be referring to digital only games so you could run them on a Stock Switch. I also find it highly unlikely that Nintendo would blatantly do something like that unless it's to ban more people.

They might have the same structure as physical cards? Is that a possibility?
Nop, This is not a physical card, is the option to allow the DIGITAL DOWNLOAD of a game you own on cartridge to another console on your family group. the process is:

You buy a digital game, you play it on your main console.
You enable <<virtual card>>
you <<eject>> the digital cartridge from your main console
you download the game on your secondary console and you are legally allowed to play it.
you CAN NOT play the game on two consoles at the same time.

It´s basically you can play a digital copy of a game on secondary consoles. so it´s easy to play on all your family consoles.
