Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with retail games. Forza Horizon is giving me dirty disc error. Naruto Rise of a Ninja freezes after the Ubisoft logo. The only one that works that I have tested is Back to the Future 30th Anniversary Edition. All XBLA games work except Snoopy Flying Ace that says I need to install it. Just wondering if this is common.

Forza Horizon implements AP2.5 protection which used to be a problem back in the day with certain drive firmwares and ODEs. This requires manually patching the game from what I remember.

Remember, BadUpdate is the exploit, FreeMyXe is what you go into if you add it as "default.xex" as part of the payload to allow running unsigned code; it is not a custom firmware!

Bear in mind that not all games will run correctly under FreeMyXe. Remember, BadUpdate is the exploit, FreeMyXe is what you go into if you add it as "default.xex" as part of the payload to allow running unsigned code; it is not a custom firmware!
You shouldnt have to patch AP2.5 games unless he is using a flashed drive.

Doesnt FreeMyXe need a lot of things added as well before it can even begin launching pirated games?

Not necessarily. For adding your Xbox 360/Original Xbox games, you're going to need to create a folder on your USB drive (i.e., "Games/Xbox 360" for 360 games (disc-based) and "Games/Xbox" for Xbox), and then create a folder with the game title you're willing to transfer. You'll need to rip its contents from the disc prior to doing so. As for Games on Demand (GoD) or Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) titles, this requires unlocking using the 360 Content Manager.

After that, setting up Aurora is straight forward; always make sure to patch "default.xex" so that XeXMenu can launch it, and configure the paths locating to your games. If you'd like a guide that is more detailed, I'll have one linked here: https://consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox_360:Aurora

Aurora is much preferred and is more up-to-date, but Freestyle dash will also work too if you'd like to have the redesigned theme that came after Blades.

That's what I was thinking. Cheers for the heads-up!

I usually put all my games in an internal folder called Games both XBLA and disc games. I run them via Aurora or XEXMenu but I'm just testing what games work and don't. I was able to get arcade games to run from the dashboard which is really cool. Iam using FreeMyXe beta 2.

I see in tools theirs XexPatcher.exe but I just run Xextool.exe to make them work. Not sure what patcher is for.

So far Aurora is running great on the new exploit. Is Freestyle Dash the same as XDash or something different? I'm avoiding XDash since installing it can RROD your Xbox.

Freestyle Dash is not the same as XeXDash.

Use XeXTool that came with the "Tools" package with BadUpdate.

Okay, cool. If they work then great job. Let me know if you cannot figure out what is right, I'll try to help.

Thanks! Another thing is Achievement notifications don't make sounds under Aurora but work fine on dashboard. Not sure why that's the case.

I am using the new Xploit for Xbox 360 Slim E.

I've tried several games in GOD that are throwing a Dirty Disk error:
Gears of War 3, Gears of War Judgment, Fable Anniversary, Forza Horizon 1 and 2, and Rage.
I use AURORA to run games from USB, and I've also tried from an internal HDD. Same error.

These same games, in extracted format and patching the Default.xex with XexMenuv1.2 or the PC application, work in Aurora.
But when patching the Default.xex of an extracted game, can no longer apply a "Title Update" to that game?
For example, Rage requires Update 4 for the DLC.
But as I said, no Title Update can be applied to any of them because they throw an error on startup.

Any solution?

Don't patch the XEX when extracting the contents.
Use XeUnshackle // Aurora. In Aurora check the Settings for your game and enable Settings Override. Check Content Patching and License Patching (not sure if both of them are needed)
Titles updates downloaded through Aurora work for me after doing this.
