Not the first game you've played but the first you remember getting to end credits on your own, or at least primarily on your own if you played with a sibling or something.

Post the game, console, and any nostalgic memories you care to share about it.

Pokémon Yellow - GBC
Zelda: Ocarina of Time - N64

I can't remember exactly which came first; heck, it may have even been Super Mario World or another SNES game.
These were the first two that really gave me a feeling of accomplishment that I still remember to this day, along with that weird melancholy I always feel when the credits roll on one I really love.

Super Mario Land, around 1996 or 1997, I was in Kindergarten. Can't remember because I skipped two years because I already knew how to read and write before hitting 4. So that period it's all fuzzy.

Not a particularly hard game, but I was 3 years old.

A decent challenge though, Adventure Island for the GameBoy is really tough and incredibly long for a GameBoy game. Finished it once in 2006 I think? But took me literally all day.
Bringing this up because as a kid in that same period had Adventure Island, Super Mario Land, Link's Awakening, Tetris and Side Pocket.

Seeing as how I don't remember seeing end credits for anything on the Atari 2600, It would have to be a Commodore 64 game, and impossible for me to remember which one was first. Windham Classics Below the Root, Bruce Lee, and Ghostbusters all come to mind. Definitely beat those on my own, but I don't think rolling credits was a thing on those games. There was an ending of sorts though.

Earthbound. I had almost no healing items and was unable to buy more since I could not teleport to any shop. Stayed up until 2am in order to get good RNG and beat the game. Still, it was definitely a very fun experience.

If memory serves, the first game I beat was Contra, not sure which one. Did play other things before, but that was arcade type games like Space Invaders and Tanks, don't think those really had a definite way to beat them.

California Games. I had the original floppy disk(s). It took about 20 minutes to load the game. The cracked version loaded much faster. Technically, I probably didn't beat it, but at least it was the first game I played in depth.

I remember beating the crap out of that game cartridge after losing for the 1000th time on stage 3. /s

No, for real, let me think...
Actually beating, perhaps Loom... or Monkey Island.
I played many games before that, but I don't remember myself beating them.
Perhaps Super Mario Bros? I beat that at some point.
Nebulus? Uridium? I played them quite a lot, but I don't remember myself actually beating them.
Uridium was so cool and smooth.

By myself, just playing as a kid, it was probably THPS1 in 2000/2001, I was 4 or 5 when I beat it. PS1 version!
I ended up getting those games on N64 too.
Unless you count beating Arcade mode in Mortal Kombat NES, but mashing buttons as a child, and repeating the same attack until the person was defeated, idk if I would count that lmao.

To this day, I have NEVER Finished that game with the stock controller. I never could get past the unicycle race without using the NES Advantage. With the NES advantage controller, I've finished it many times though.
