Haxchi Boot Loop

So I attempted to move from CBHC to Aroma and I reinstalled Haxchi over CBHC (which was the wrong thing to do). The system now just loops on the "Wii U Menu" screen never arriving at the Wii U menu.

I tried changing the coldboot title using UDPIH. It doesn't seem to be successful though and upon restart I get the loop again.

Using ISFShax I am now able to boot into minute but after dumping some stuff and trying to ‘Patch (sd) and boot IOS (slc)’ I seem to get the same issue.

Can this be fixed? Can I retrieve the MLC and emulate in CEMU to extract the save files?

TL;DR for whole thread
1. Tried to update from CBHC to Aroma.
2. I messed up uninstalling Haxchi and created a boot loop where my WiiU couldn’t launch the WiiU Menu application upon boot up.
3. Unfortunately I did not set up my Haxchi config files to launch directly to sysmenu, Homebrew Launcher, etc. So holding A, B, X, etc during boot up did not provide an avenue to proceed.
4. I needed to reinstall the WiiU Menu app. Found app through WiiU Downloader (or JNUSTool).
5. I purchased a Raspberry Pi Pico and used UDPIH to install the WiiU Menu wup.
6. Now my WiiU was essentially unhacked, time to upgrade to Aroma.
7. Followed the guide and got my system and saves back.
8. Aroma rocks, you should do it.

Try holding A or B depending on your Haxchi config and see what happens. To remove CBHC you use the CBHC installer. But setting the CB title in the recovery should also work

The config file does state a and b should take me to the sysmenu, but unfortunately nothing happens and I land at the looping Wii U Menu screen.

do you have an option to load the hbl in the config? If so try that.

You could also use the wafel_install.ipx to reinstall the Wii U menu, that would also reset the coldboot.

How did you install ISFShax?

That option is missing from my file, and following this older post (gbatemp /threads/community-noob-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.451297/) it appears I cannot add that functionality.

Of note udpih is reporting my boot title is of an eshop game about mind training, not sure if that information is useful though.

So for some reason the coldboot title is stuck on the haxchi title. Is there some error message when you try to reset the coldboot title or is it just silently failing?

That's a good idea. UDPIH has a "Install WUP" option, too.

It's silently failing, It says success but upon rebooting the coldboot title remains unchanged.

Is this a protected WUP? Is it intentionally difficult to find?

No. JNUSTool should be able to download it, for example. Just make sure to pich the correct one for your region.

Hey this worked! Of note I used WiiUDownloader instead to get the menu and then UDPIH to install it. Now I have my saves and I'm running Aroma with Tiramisu. Thanks for all the help
