I check Clownacy's blog regularly to see if he's posted an update on his N64 Core but looks like he hasn't worked on it for a while now.
The last sticking point was something to to with porting OpenGL to WiiU.

yeah I made couple posts as Anonymous , I dont have an Account but that Blog was a good find Ploggy im hoping he gets it resolved or releases the Source. Not that I know much but someone could maybe contribute I am still to make full jump to Aroma I use Loadiine for N64 and NDS Injects and hopefully NooDS can fill in some incompatibles.

@ploggy does the Aroma build support XMB or is it just the Ozone Menu? I have Dynamic backgrounds setup also fs: instead of SD: for directories I hope to mod few things up on my Wii U.

I have grabbed all attachments and links from your builds so gonna do some maintenance.

The Aroma port should support all the UI's that Tira supports, tbh I haven't tried XMB on Aroma but I'm sure it works fine ;)

any progress in the aroma port or the latest one is the one in your bio?
same about the cores. can we get the latest one on buildbot and they will work on the aroma or just tiramisu?

Not much tbh, Quarky is working in other projects atm. but Quarky will get back to Retroarch at some point.
The latest Aroma build will always be in my sig until the port is finished, then it will be on the buildbot, but as for right now the build in my sig is the same as the one from before.

forgot to ask about pcsx too
any significant update on the core or the one in your aroma build is the latest?

Umm not sure I think all the performance improvements are in the latest build in my sig, tho one or two more may be in the next build once its released.

Hey guys BIG announcement time lol

The Aroma Port that has been in limbo for the last year due to the issue with slow Core loading/Rom loading has been fixed thanks to a new Aroma CFW update :D :D :D
This means Retroarch on Aroma is now back on the table! I tried a bunch of the Core's I compiled last year and they seem to run fine and Core swap as they're supposed to. heh :)

Downside is Core's that require Jit such as PS1 and Picodrive will have to be reworked to work properly with Aroma but the rest should work fine :D

Vid of Aroma RA in action...

Here's a full Retroarch package with Cores and a Retroarch wuhb file so you can have a Retroarch icon to launch from the Home Menu!

Don't mix Tiramisu Retroarch Cores with Aroma ones and don't attempt to update your Cores through Retroarch... Your asking for trouble if you do ;)
Best to rename your current Retroarch folder if you have one, the link I've posted has the Retroarch folder all setup so its just a straight extract to SD root, insert sd, load Aroma then load the Retroarch icon (white instead of black) :P

Try it and post any issues you have and remember this is a test build ;)

EDIT: Thanks to the work of @Vague Rant we now have working Pcsxreamed and Picodrive Aroma Cores!!! (included in the link)

EDIT2: If your getting audio issues with the PS1 Core do this:
Go into the RA Settings and change the Audio Driver to Axpro
Change the audio Sample Rate to 44100
Load a PS1 game and save a Core Override (in the In-Game Menu) this will save you having to keep changing the Audio Driver/Sample Rate everytime ;)
Audio issues should be fixed!

Thank you! I just installed this on my Wii U and it worked perfectly for NES, SNES, and GBA but it wont take my ds and n64 games. all folders are in the same place and are named the consoles name in all caps, I'm new to the Retroarch scene so I don't know how to find what cores are available. Is this a problem on my end or is DS and N64 cores not been ported to aroma yet?

There should be a way to decompile the official N64 WII U virtual console emulator to see how fast it runs games and replicate this in a core N64 emulator such as a dynarec.
I think this would be quite possible since the virtual console is also an emulator.

Replicating his dynarec could be a solution.

( I'm back guys, recovering my health, I'm happy to be here again )

decompiling something takes years of work, your better off just porting another open source emulator than decompliling anything...

Wii64 combined with Clownacy's Work maybe could get somewhere , Clownacy N64 had issues getting GL to run via GX2 so no Acceleration I guess but he did have Angrylion running via Software which is kind of a feat if only Angrylion or Parallel would run at a decent speed. HLE and Glide64 via Mupen64Plus would be best route just like Wii64 the only Game that would give some issues is Resident Evil 2 maybe StarCraft 64 , FrameBuffer needs turned Off for Gameplay and turned On for FMVs , Factor 5 Games run great on PC or PI5 at least again guess it translating to Wii U.

1.24 GHz Tri-Core CPU x3 Threads?
2 GB DDR3 , 800MHz 1GB Usable?
550MHz Shading Units 160 TMUs 16 ROPs 8 Compute Units 4

you misunderstood me what i meant is to take only the way the dynarec works and not the emulator itself because what is missing for the N64 to run on the wiiu is a dynamic dynarec ppc and this emulator has the answer to be able to fit into another emulator to be ported example mupen64 next.

dynarecs are emulator exclusive... you cant just use the dynarec from one emulator and slap it on another it wont work.

I'm new to the Wii U - I installed the Aroma version of Retroarch today with a partitioned SSD. I have roms on an NTFS partition and the application is on the SD card. When trying to connect, i noticed the only directory available from within Retroarch app is the SD card. Am is missing something? How do you access a NTFS partition? Previously I've used Retroarch on the PS3 with no issues around using multiple partitions on an external drive.
