Hi, I'm in need of help since I want to play the 3DS version of Terraria because it contains unique bosses that aren't on other version of the game, but I can't find any 3DS emulator that runs on Windows 7. Citra doesn't works and I can't figure out how to use TronDS. Before any question, I want to clarify that I use Windows 7 SP1 because of money issues, and I'm not old enough to work and get a better computer so I'm limited to this. Now, any help/recommendation?

Nope, Citra is by far the best 3DS emulator. I doubt another one would play that specific game because they're just not on Citra's level.

Well, then I guess I can't do anything about it.
If there's anyone to whom it may concern, when I try opening both Citra versions available (Old and Lastest) a Pop-Up appears saying No se encuentra el punto de entrada del procedimiento CreateDXGIFactory2 en la biblioteca de vínculos dinámicos dxgi.dll., or in other words The entry point of the CreateDXGIFactory2 procedure in the dynamic link library dxgi.dll is not found.. And even when I fix the problem, another Pop-Up appears saying No se encuentra el punto de entrada del procedimiento NtQueryWnfStateData en la biblioteca de vínculos dinámicos ntdll.dll., that means The entry point for the NtQueryWnfStateData procedure in the ntdll.dll dynamic link library is not found., and there my lucks runs out since, from what I know, ntdll.dll is a system dll that you can't update without updating the operative system.

find in file Qt5Gui.dll the line CreateDXGIFactory2 in the hex editor (there total are 3 of them) and replace the symbol 2 with 1

I'd hate to be the one to point this out, but if you have a computer which is capable of emulating a 3DS, you most likely are able to update to Windows 10 anyways (which you should be doing anyway since 7 has been out of support for years)

That said, I've found a few other people asking the same question when Googling this. There seem to be some ports available of Citra for Windows 7 but I don't think I can link them here.

While I think this is probably true, I would warn the OP that every time I've updated Win7 to Win10 it's resulted in an unstable OS. A fresh intall of Windows 10 is the way to go, but a quick google indicates there's no longer any free upgrade route from Win7 to Win10.

Another quick google indicates this will stop the emulator from checking the version of Windows. That might be enough to get it to work on Windows 7. If you don't understand the instructions just say so and I'm sure someone will explain step-by-step. I like HxD for these kind of tasks, which is a type of program known as a hex-editor.

I never looked it up when I responded before, it DOES support Windows 7. So it's just his graphic card that's the reason not because of Windows 7.

Requirements (Latest version)

  • Requires a graphic card that supports OpenGL 3.3 and Windows 7 of 64 bits or higher.

Why the heck are you running Windows 7 in 2024? It's riddled with many security vulnerabilities when connected to the internet, and there aren't a lot of games and software that support it anymore. You're most likely better off upgrading to Windows 10, or, Linux that doesn't have the spyware bundled in there.

Panda3DS is your best bet, Lime3DS has been since discontinued.
