Hackers release playable PC builds of Pokémon Legends Arceus and more following Game Freak gigaleak

We recently reported that Game Freak suffered a security breach which led to a huge amount of confidential data being leaked such as game source codes and internal design documents.

During the cyber attack, the hackers also obtained native PC builds of Pokémon Legends Arceus as well as builds of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.

Now these official PC versions of the games have been cracked and are available to find online meaning they can be played on PC without the need for emulation though it seems compatibility may be an isuse with specific Nvidia cards and drivers being required.

The builds of Pokémon BDSP appear to be close to final debug builds, and Pokémon Legends Arceus is an early prototype build. These PC editions, made during internal testing and development of the games were most likely never intended to be publically released on PC and their releases are sure to further infuriate Nintendo and Game Freak who have already seen so much data leak.

Please remember that sharing copyrighted content or links to where it can be found even through PMs is against the GBAtemp ToS and your posts and accounts can/will be immediately terminated without warning if you do not follow our Terms and Rules.

"Playable pc build" does that also mean "an easier moddable build"? Because if so, i hope modder would be able to make something better out of this game. It was supposed to be a masterpiece, and it kinda was when it got released, but it aged so badly after only 3 years.

While better that other Pokemon games for the Switch, Arceus was buggy at release and thid is earlier that the release version so no thanks.

Also the Switch versions of Diamond and Pearl suck.

lol gbatemp loves covering this stuff but slowly becoming censorship themselves. im not a pokemon fan so i could care less about a link but its garbage to tell people what they can do in their PM's imo.

The number of people claiming the Ryujinx shutdown has anything to do with this leak just goes to show how stupid the mindless "burn Nintendo" people are.

The leaker has been downloading stuff since August and has only uploaded it now because their access got cut off (if they said anything earlier, the access would've been cut off early). Ryujinx getting shut down is completely irrelevant and this leak would've happened regardless.

"I do illegal things at home. So the police can't arrest me for those illegal things". Yeah, we are maybe to lax on what people do in PMs even.

Is there any chance these leaks have signing keys for NSP or XCI?

LOL would be good for homebrew on flash cart or even locally.

better yet, you should also adopt a "If you have nothing to say, don't post" mentality when it comes to the front page news posts, it'll help curb a lot of the "Palworld Lawsuit/Ryujinx shutdown made the leaks happen!" posts that add absolutely nothing to the conversation and if anything just stifles any actual conversation.

I'm in favor of this

If the source codes for the PC builds were leaked then perhaps someone could release improved versions of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Platinum on the DS was a great game but the gen 4 remakes were mediocre.

Yet it brings in possibly new people. So it's a double edge sword.

It's nothing about censorship. If you want to post roms website (even through PM), it's the best way for GBAtemp to be censored by Nintendo. And by censored, I mean shut down. Don't think only about what YOU want to do, think about all other users who are very fine about not asking or sharing roms sites.
This website is not the place for such matter. If you are not happy about that, go whine somewhere else.

If GBAtemp hosted ROMs on their site, then Nintendo will go ballistic and shut them down. It's not about censorship, as this has an entirely different meaning. The definition of 'censorship' is to hide and block what other people say; copyright does not apply to that. Considering the recent lawsuits on emulation and the Palworld situation, Nintendo is a company you don't want to mess with.
