Will you buy the "Switch 2" at launch?

Absolutely not. They've been pulling absolutely despicable anti-consumer decision after decision over the years, and this year has taken the cake for the sheer number of these decisions annually. They were great in my childhood, but my adulthood is just tired of them and I have zero interest. Hell, I was hyped as shit for Metroid Prime 4 since announcement and joining the crowd in going "when is it coming???" Now, it could be released tomorrow and I won't be purchasing it.

The Switch I have is still the same one from years ago, and it only gets played these days when my kid asks to play it with me.

I will try to get two Switch 2 launch versions. One to keep in the box until it can be hacked and one to play Nintendo games on. From all the consoles out this season and previous few generation, the Nintendo ones are the ones I actually play games on. And the only games I seem interesting in are the Nintendo first party ones. Rest of the time I play on my PC.

also if it is anything like Switch 1, it will be nice to have an extra set of joy-cons, power brick and extra dock.

Yes, day 1 buy for me. I can then sell my unhacked Erista Switch on current firmware with it's pristine NAND for a good amount to help recover the cost after I transfer all my stuff to the Switch 2.

All I ask is you keep the battery conditioned during it's storage. 50% or so for Li-ion cells is optimal for long-term storage. Nobody wants a dangerous spicy pillow hanging around.

I will buy it with one game because launch models are the ones most likely to become hackable in the future. The one game is so I can at least experience playing it before locking it away for a few years.
Yeah I'll probably end up buying two of them. One for my personal use an another and another for modding whenever the time comes.
