The Latin Spanish dub and Brazilian Portuguese dub of DBZ were absolutely fantastic, but unfortunately their Kai dubs weren't as good.
It didn't help they used the NickToons version which was somewhat more censored than the original Kai version.
I have the LATAM/PT-BR Kai dub episodes with the Yamamoto score, it only lasted about 20ish (out of 98).
I loved the Latin Spanish dub. I felt it was truer. I grew up watching both the Spanish Latin American dub (Thru Telemundo) and the Ocean dub till episode 64., n WB early mornings. Seeing both versions helped me learn and understand English when I had recently arrived to the United States.
I paid so much attention to the Latin American dub that I would make recite the iconic lines of the characters.
When I would see the ocean dub, I knew the episodes from the Latin American dub, that I was already expecting what the characters would say.
So I would try to guess what they were going to say in English based on what I had remembered from the Spanish Version.
It was quite an experience seeing the Ocean dub because it was far from 1:1 from the Latin American Spanish, the things said where different than how I could have said it or how I would have translated it from the Latin American version.
It was there that It helped me understand English better, and realize that languages have their own intricacies, idioms, expressions, jokes, small talk comments, jokes, similes , metaphors in conversations, and figurative language.
Xenoverse 2 was released on the Switch after it came out on PS4/Xbox so definitely can see that happening.
Sparking! NEO and Sparking! METEOR were released on the Wii so makes sense Sparking! ZERO is on the next Switch. Not so much on the current as it is just too weak at this point.
I hope we get the same DBZ games on the Switch. I would not mind a recompilation on the Switch for Tenkaichi, and Budokai.
I havent watched any dragón Ball series in a long time and thus i'm watching from og Dragon Ball now (i tell you the latino dub there was shitty with the translations, and there is a playlist by seldiondb showing the errors)
I did notice mistakes on a rewatch my brother was doing of the 21st tournament. Where they made the mistake of saying Krillin and Goku trained 2 years under Master Roshi, thouh I know from the manga and English version that it was 8 months that they were training. That is why Krillin was concerned because he did not think 8 months was a lot for them. Overall I think even with the mistakes on the dub the voice actors themselves did an excellent job with what they had to read.
Even if the movie was Gokū/Piccolo I'd not have liked it anymore than Gohan/Piccolo duo, it's just not a very good movie, IMO.
Moreover, the DBZ Majin Boo arc felt it was meant to be all about Son Gohan based on the opening (We Gotta Power), but it was mostly about Gokū.
The Majin Boo arc was more of comedic than serious like the previous were, in fact Majin Boo arc could have worked as a sequel to Dragon Ball Z. It's so different than the Saiyan, Freeza, and Cell arcs.
Good call a sequel to Z. Dragonball Z Shippuden, since it continues the story of Gohan. Yeah it feels like a sequel. The reset of the pacing, reintroduction of characters. DB and Z had their time skips for training, but you were always jumping back in to where you had left off. The skip was kinda like the skip in Super.
The skip to super even tho was not too much reset the pacing and reintroduced the characters, doing different things with their lives.
Goku was farming on the tractor and was getting bored, Vegeta more or less the same, Bulma had become more adventerous and driven on her quest to make cosmetic surgery wishes, Krillin became the police officer, Tien more secluded and ran a dojo, and GOhan was married with Pan.
Absolutely. OG Dragon Ball and DBZ were my jam as a kid. I remember not liking most of GT, but in retrospect, I really think it's a lot better than people gave it credit for in the day.
I could not stand Super. Whether or not that was because it felt too boring to have the all powerful Beerus there to fix any issue instantly, or just how boring the concept of Goku endangering his own world was for the fun of fighting, or maybe I was just older and didn't enjoy DB anymore.
Either way...I'm beyond hyped for Sparking Zero. Give give give
Would have loved to see Gohan endanger the world again like he did when he went ssj2 against Cell. Its always fin that Gohan also endangers the world because he doesn't train. Gohan never wanted to abide by Spiderman's line of "with great power comes great responsibility"
