No that was just for the show. In the game, you will get torn up by the turrets, unless you destroy them or turn them off using a computer. You can also install turrets in your own settlements for your own defenses against enemies.I don't know my Fallout, but I've been considering the same question. Some say 1 and 2 are the "real" entries with New Vegas being the "true successor." Others think 3 and 4 are the best. Some just go with all of them.
What I really want to know is if turrets really are useless. I haven't watched the Fallout show, but I've seen the bit where Michael Emmerson does a Solid Snake walk through turret fire (with a dog). Not a scratch on either of them. I want to know if that really was a nod to the games.

Im gonna play the games on ps3Another thing I'd like to point out is that you don't even try to play any of these - Fallout 3, 4 or New Vegas - without unofficial patches at the very least. If you'd like to have as vanilla experience as possible, I can post the list of the mods I've used for each game. Fallout New Vegas has the longest list since it's buggy as hell.

I always played it on PC and never tried the PS3 version. I tried to research to give you some input but, some say that it runs fine, others say it always crashes at the start, so I have no idea how stable your playthrough will be.Im gonna play the games on ps3

if you're fine with choppy performance and really long load times, the ps3 version is serviceable. I platinum'd all of Fallout 3 and New Vegas last year through PS Now's streaming. Be prepared for crashes. It's definitely playable, but go in knowing there's some frustrations to be had.Im gonna play the games on ps3
