Why are you using NeoGamma? Just use USB Loader GX.
I've played all of those games (Wii Sports, Wii Play, Twilight Princess, Wario Ware Smooth Moves) on USB Loader GX no issues.

Yea its best to use usb loader gx neogamma is really old and incompatible here is the latest version https://github.com/wiidev/usbloadergx/releases

Does is play wbfs files or do i have to convert them all to isos?

It plays wbfs files just like any loader format your usb stick to fat32 32kb and use wii backup manager to transfer your wbfs or iso files to the usb stick.

If your USB stick works with NeoGamma it will work with USB Loader GX.
USB sticks are generally not recommended though because most of them don't work with cIOS. But that's the same regardless of what loader you are using.

Edit: Do make sure you are running d2x cIOS as well (base 56 in slot 249, base 57 in slot 250), you might continue having the same issue if you're on an obsolete cIOS.
