All latest versions of Snes9x cores recompiled with RA Wii 1.7.6, as it was reported that 1.7.6 got better speed than 1.7.9 (!!!).
Also a few more cores coming soon in this thread.

- Snes9x (latest Snes9x 1.62.3) - Super Nintendo (http://github.com/snes9xgit/snes9x).
- Snes9x 2002 (Snes9x 1.39 / PocketSNES) - Super Nintendo (http://github.com/libretro/snes9x2002).
- Snes9x 2005 (Snes9x 1.43 / CAT SFC) - Super Nintendo (http://github.com/libretro/snes9x2005).
- Snes9x 2005 Plus (Snes9x 1.43 with faster Blargg APU / CAT SFC Plus) - Super Nintendo (http://github.com/libretro/snes9x2005).
- Snes9x 2010 (Snes9x 1.52+ / Snes9x Next) - Super Nintendo (http://github.com/libretro/snes9x2010).

Additional cores:

- PCSX-ReARMed (built with P.E.Op.S. Soft GPU and UNAI (Una-i) GPU) - Sony PlayStation 1 (https://github.com/libretro/pcsx_rearmed) (requested by @Disorarara)

In loving memory of @FIX94, these two cores developed originally by him are also avaliable to download them here:

- fixNES - Nintendo NES (http://github.com/libretro/fixNES).
- fixGB - Nintendo Game Boy/Game Boy Color (http://github.com/libretro/fixGB).
Thanks for your work!

Unrelated but about fix94, what do you imply? Any news of him?
He did so much for the wii scene.

@Wiimpathy

Hey there, thanks for supporting in this small project!
Btw, i don't know anything about what happened to @FIX94.
The only thing i know about him, is that he left many good things to the Wii/vWii scene... (his Mupen64GC-FIX94, his mod of Wii64, Nintendont, sign_c2w_patcher, haxchi, his open HBC, and fixNES/fixGB...)

"Wiimote-only compatible. Latest RA Wii only forces to use Wii Classic Controller."

No more GC controller support then? Why was support dropped?

If that's the case, I'm out.
@_47iscool

Nope, GC controller support is not dropped here.
I think i had to explain this a little more.

I said that these cores i compiled in this thread can be played with Wiimote only, but you can still use the Wii Classic Controller or the GameCube controller in these cores.

@SaulFabre your virtual jaguar ppc change, for increased perf intrigued me so I tried it on the WiiU to see if it helped any.. I don't know if its a placebo effect but it does seem to me to be a little faster with that change, still nowhere near fullspeed mind 20fps-ish on Rayman (should be be 60fps) but still .. Seems a little better.. I'll take any increase I can get lol

Cool!

Unfortunately i can't get RA-HEXAeco to compile it properly.
Same with nexus79's myra1002 (modified RA Wii 1.0.0.2 pretty well optimized for Wii).

For now i will only bring cores in RA Wii 1.7.6-1.7.9.
Ah, so these cores only work with the unmodded retrolib versions, and not RA-Hexaeco?

I will make/start this quick thread for spread the love i have to old versions of the frontend for Libretro cores on the Nintendo Wii, the RetroArch Wii.
I will bring the latest updates of the emulator cores ported to Libretro, but without the stupid issues present in latest RA Wii versions.

All these cores were compiled using RetroArch Wii v1.7.9, unless specified.
  • NO MORE annoying crackling sound issues!
  • Wiimote-only compatible, along with compatibility with Wii Classic Controller as well as the Nintendo GameCube controller. Latest RA Wii only forces to use Wii Classic Controller/GCN controller.
Incomplete list:
Greetings to all.

Saul, you are doing Gods work here! Thanks a lot. I used to do tests on older RA cores back then. Mostly for the Mortal Kombat arcade games,

How good is the performance now on them? (The arcade MK games)

You know, the old core I tried was 100% speed in MKII but had the cracling sound overtime glicth.

This is a side note: Retroarch for the Xbox 360 had THE SAME issue, but I managed to get help from a 360 coder and he backported to it the sound fixes and the games, all 3 work AWESOME.

Could this be done on those old cores on Wii?

Read my last post of this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/unoffic...1-7-9-and-other-versions.648742/post-10385268

I already posted new MAME 2003 Midway cores which one of them has all the possible DCS audio fixes (the build called fulldcsfix). Just try it on Wii.
Speed of MKII on Wii is fullspeed when you enable DCS Speedhack and lower the samples to 22100.

Try the MK games with my new MAME 2003 Midway build for Wii and tell me your results.

Hi. Could you compile PC Engine Mednafen cores? Trying to run Wii Mednafen stand alone but because of my set up (portable Wii) it won't run from USB whereas RA will by choosing USB paths.

I'd appreciate it if you could.

I agree 100%. The RA PCE cores could use some stability maybe a retro compile could fix if it could keep CHD compatibility in tact.

RA PCE Fast 1.10.1 and RA 1.16.0 SGFX are both very reliable cores that support CHD, but both cores will crash when put into extended tests. These cores i use are both nightly versions available in the Frankenstein pack if you are interested.

cap32 and fuse are really the only cores i believe need attention. 2 great machines that have been neglected and could use some love.

i could try compiling them in the nearby future, right now i'm compiling some FBA cores that my friend @Zorg07 requested.
