Corrects "false information" yet continues to carry water for rapist Donald Trump 🙄
You can weave any conspiracy theories you want about me, it doesn’t faze me. You made an error and I corrected it, it’s not a big deal, we’re not lawyers here. Except @Ericzander, he is a lawyer here. So I guess some of us are. In any case, if you want to keep fuming over it, that’s on you, not on me.

You're the one who said that "call didn't phase you" so you have no business claiming anyone is sharing conspiracy theories.

The call that resulted in that rapist's mugshot.

Do my eyes deceive me? A post that’s on-topic? In POLtemp? This has to be a mirage. Yeah, let’s get back to Georgia.

This is a weird argument. Best case, is that he still was liable for sexual assault and yet people are still defending him.
Splitting hairs really
It’s not “splitting hairs”, it’s a very important distinction. Rape is a class B felony punishable by mandatory prison time and pursued as a crime by law enforcement, not as a civil matter. A successful civil suit does not entail criminal liability, a guilty verdict or a conviction, it is *only* concerned with financial liability, also known as damages. As such, the bar for evidence is significantly lower and cases that would’ve been dismissed in a criminal court of law can be successful in civil court. It also does not distinguish between rape, sexual assault and other assorted physical infractions - they’re all considered battery. As such, it is blatantly incorrect to state that Donald Trump was found guilty of rape and convicted for that crime - he was found liable for battery by way of sexual abuse, that’s what the verdict states. Those two things are not the same and carry different consequences - @Hanafuda is correct in stating as much. The preponderance of evidence speaks against Trump, but he was not convicted of committing the crime of rape under penal law, and stating otherwise is untrue.

I don’t think you know what gish gallop is. The difference between paying damages and *going to prison with a sex crime on your criminal record* is not splitting hairs, it’s the difference between being a free man and an incarcerated convicted felon. If that’s immaterial to you then that’s fine, most people would disagree with this assessment.

It's detailed here:

Incidentally, your rhetoric tactics are the tactics the Nazis used. It's your own fault that comparison can be made.

In short, Trump is a rapist who attempted to overturn the results of a fair and free election. He's currently facing the consequences of his actions.

People still support him after this, and really after his 4 years of an objectively horrific presidency.

Those people are objectively stupid, or are evil. That's not up for debate, and it's pointless to debate these people are they're not reasonable or intelligent.

Freedom of speech does not allow a person to solicit the commission of a crime. Hey... I'm absolutely innocent here... I was just "asking" government officials to "find" votes to "overturn" an "election" and "asking" my "co-conspirators" to "help" me do it. THAT'S FREESPEECH... GOD BLESS AMERICA!

You could just concede instead of randomly accusing people of being Nazis/White Nationalists because they corrected you online, but whatever floats your boat. Then again, that may as well be a concession. Since you don’t seem to have an actual rebuttal, I think I can safely assume you have nothing constructive to add and the exchange is over, yes?

P01135809 forced himself on woman because he is a morally corrupt piece of shit.
P01135809 and his cronies tried to subvert the US Presidential election.
These indicted traitors need to be convicted and hang for their crimes.

A civil law court is still a court.
GBATemp Moderators never have a good moral compass.
The dude is just another sycophant who ultimately stands for nothing.
Would probably stand by and watch your mother get raped by a "good" man.

A civil law court is still a court.

Where nobody is convicted of crimes. That happens in criminal court. Different law, different burden of proof, different procedures and rules.

OJ Simpson was found not guilty of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. He was not convicted, and did not go to prison. He is not, by law, a murderer.

But OJ Simpson was found liable to the Goldman family for the death of their son, in a CIVIL CASE. He was ordered to pay them money. (Not sure if he ever did though)

Gas (and everything else) was cheap.
No inflation.
50 yr record low unemployment.
Middle East peace deal
Favorable trade deal with China
Favorable trade deal with Japan
Favorable trade deal with Korea
USA became a net energy exporter
Illegal border crossings down 87 percent
No new wars

List goes on. Yeah, it was terrible. Good thing Joe Biden put a stop to all that.

No, I can point out that you choose to use the same rhetoric tactics.

Fuck off I lived it and read it in the news on a daily basis and you did too unless you were only getting your news from the TalkingPointsMemo or that crazy DemocracyNOW catlady.

We all lived it.
Nobody has a monopoly on the truth.
It's up to you to provide evidence for your claims and not the other way around.
That's just not how this works.

But here is my play anyway...

"Gas (and everything else) was cheap." I remember living thru Covid and nothing was cheap or easy.
"No inflation." Toilet Paper and everything disappeared from shelves.
"50 yr record low unemployment." Who had jobs during Covid and didnt work from home. The Grocery store clerks.
"Middle East peace deal." Yes Jared moved the capital but ultimately the goalpost is WAR and that is indeed what is happening.
"Favorable trade deal with China" This is a concession. Yes you win.
"Favorable trade deal with Japan" This is a concession. Yes you win.
"Favorable trade deal with Korea" Caving into murderous dictators isn't a good look.
"USA became a net energy exporter" This is total bullshit.
"Illegal border crossings down 87 percent" and this is total bullshit.
"No new wars" This is a concession. Yes you win.

You think gas is $3.70/gal? I paid $4.72 a couple days ago. Four years ago, mid 2 dollar range. The spike that occurred in 2008 was a relatively short phenomenon (accompanied the recession caused by crash of the housing bubble, which was the result of lenient lending standards to risky borrowers). Gas was up at $5 range in 2022, dipped for a little while because Biden has been draining the strategic petroleum reserve to artificially depress the price, but when the reserve hit an all time low they had to back off that and now gas prices are back up again. And the price of gas affects everything else, which is why things like dairy, eggs, bacon, beef have almost doubled in price in 3 years, and interest rates on used cars are an average 12% or something.
