But I've found the wiki very useful (available on their main page) and that's what I used to install it (also appears less complicated than the thread I linked tbh)

Hopefully by then we'll have something like Pretendo or Wiimmfi for Switch Servers since just relying on LanPlay or Xlink still leaves a lot of game functionality unusable if it was tied to online (XP systems like Splatoon don't work on local/LAN).
