Hi there, psp games won't boot for me and the console will shut down since updating to Ark 4.19.7 with inferno cache enabled in the recovery menu. Disabling it makes everything work again. This did not happen in Ark 4.19.6. Using psp slim with Ark cIPL. Also, have the following settings always enabled:

- usb charge
- extra memory
- MS speedup
- scan: save data, category entries, dlc files

using Game Categories Lite plugin v1.6.

Update:

Disabling extra memory while keeping MS speedup and inferno cache enabled also works. They just can't be all three enabled.
Can you try this pre-release build?
https://github.com/PSP-Archive/ARK-4/releases/tag/v1674650711

It works fine for me having Inferno Cache, Unlock High Memory and MS Speedup all three set to Always.
This build also fixes High Memory on PS Vita (to a certain degree), but that part needs more testing.

It works fine for me too. The issue seems to be completely fixed on my psp slim, all games boot, and no more shutdowns. Thank you so much for ARK! :)

Tested 4.19.8 for @Acid_Snake . It brings a welcome addition. :)
The only reason I haven't released it yet is because I can't seem to get it working on Test and Dev kits.

I downloaded this release and if "Inferno Cache" is set to "LRU" and "Force Extra Memory" is set to "Always", the PSP still freezes and restarts some seconds after exiting PSP games on ARK-4 after pressing the "PS" button and clicking "Yes".

I downloaded this release and my PSP 3000 still turns off if having the Force Extra Memory and Inferno Cache settings set to Always when exiting PSP games using the PS button.
I tested this cfw before it was released, and it worked fine for me. I think you're doing something wrong. though, if you're on the vita, I can't really help. I was testing on the psp, since I think the cfw settings is just for psp.

Hey guys, new HUGE release here:

https://github.com/PSP-Archive/ARK-4/releases/tag/r4199

You can now change the region of your UMD drive to play back region locked movies!
This works on every PSP model on any region.

To play a region locked UMD:

1 - Enter recovery menu.
2 - Scroll down to the last option: UMD Region Change.
3 - Select your desired region with left/right.
4 - Exit recovery menu.
5 - Wait for the XMB to fully load and the memory stick LED indicator to stop blinking.
6 - Insert your region locked UMD and play it!

Like I said, I tested it on the PSP.

I see, then I don't know what's going on on your end, but @Acid_Snake has testers (I'd like to include myself as one of them), and none reported this problem.

I installed the latest version (4.19.9) and "4.19.8 Infinity" still appears in "System Software" and in Custom Launcher's "CFW Settings" and "Settings" on the PSP and in PS Vita's/PS TV's standalone ARK-4's "CFW Settings" and "Settings" instead of "4.19.9 Infinity" and the "UMD Region Change" setting doesn't even appear in XMB's "Custom Firmware Settings".

I installed the latest version and in "System Information" it still shows up as 4.19.8 instead of 4.19.9 and "UMD Region Change" doesn't even show up in "Custom Firmware Settings".

Also, my PSP 3000 still turns off if having the Force Extra Memory and Inferno Cache settings set to Always when exiting PSP games using the PS button.
did you even read the instructions!? you have to go into the recovery menu.

you're hopeless, I will no longer respond to your posts.

Why, since it's not my fault?

Also, PS Vita's/PS TV's standalone ARK-4 often crashes in the "#ChovySign" part with a C1-2858-3 error message after running it, and when it doesn't, it often crashes when running PSP ISOs with a C1-2858-3 error message.

EDIT: After all the PSP freezes and restarts some seconds only after exiting the european Spider-Man: Web of Shadows – The Amazing Allies Edition on ARK-4 after pressing the "PS" button and clicking "Yes" and not after exiting PSP games in general on ARK-4 after pressing the "PS" button and clicking "Yes" and only with "Force Extra Memory" set to "Always" so "Inferno Cache" being set to "LRU" as well doesn't have to do with it.

EDIT 2: I replaced the "–" on Spider-Man: Web of Shadows – Amazing Allies with a "-" and I'm not having the previous problems regarding it (the game appearing on the XMB but not on the "Custom Launcher" and the PSP freezing and restarting some seconds after exiting the game on ARK-4 after pressing the "PS" button and clicking "Yes" with only "Force Extra Memory" set to "Always". I'll keep "Force Extra Memory" set to "Disabled" since it's the default setting). I had to use an USB cable to connect the PSP to the PC to change the game's name since nothing happened after I renamed it on ARK-4's "Files" and the game's name was too long for the "–" to even appear on FileZilla Client.

EDIT 3: Now, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows – Amazing Allies with the "–" appears on the "Custom Launcher" with an odd name so I'll replace the "–" with a "-" again.

EDIT 4: Now, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows - Amazing Allies with the "–" instead of the "-" no longer appears on the "Custom Launcher" with an odd name.

I don't know if this can help but if I load the cwcheat (plugin) menu and try to exit the game via the home button (without closing the cwcheat menu first) the console will freeze and shut down. I am not sure if this is an expected behavior or a bug, It is pretty avoidable anyway. But it's the closest thing I can remember related to this "exiting a game + freezing/shutting down" issue.

I'll let acid snake know. I think he's going to become mostly a discord user.

Would be interesting to know if it's a known bug in other CFWs first. In any case I will look into it.

if you have infinite, it will be easy to swap between them. I have my system quadruple booting.

That's the issue I'm having but according to @godreborn it's my fault.

No, it's not. I only have it in recent ARK-4 versions.
