Hey guys I've updated the release to version 4.19.1, which contains an important refactor to the rebootex binaries.
While it doesn't really translate to any new feature, it is important that you test this version and report back with if anything has been broken.

yep, it does that on my ps tv
But I already had these problems before using the previous versions and I still do with the latest one released yesterday.
I think all these issues would be solved if we had a video tutorial showing how to install ARK from scratch.
Any youtuber here up for the task?

I've just installed the latest version. Everything works fine except the custom launcher: the games don't appear in its icon and so, I have to launch them from the file browser.

I had 6.61.Me before and I'm using Infinity.

Weird, my games list populated, it's one thing I check.

We already do. I followed one in portuguese and IIRC, you even said the YouTuber was reliable. Also, we already have instructions on how to install PS Vita's standalone ARK-4 in its GitHub repository's README.

Forget what've said. It was a mistake on my side
I've messed up the Ark_0123 folder in the SAVEDATE, mixing the update with a previous version. I've just had to replace the files to get it right.

HENlo does not equate to a full fledged permanent exploit- as far as i've seen it's web based and you still have to downgrade to 3.65 for the latest enso.
@Acid_Snake keep getting c1-2858-3 errors on 3.65 enso, with both debug and release versions. How would one use the locoroco demo/ape quest as a base?

You must use some plugin to enable PSN again and download them for free.
I'm not sure if they are needed though as other users have reporting being able to use ARK-4 on the mini that is installed by FastARK with no issues.

this was the way it originally was for adrenaline. you needed a game to serve as the base, so this is nothing new. :)

Is there an option to mount umds via usb to dump them? Also is there an option to mount umd video isos?

You can mount UMD Video ISO to play them using the file browser (in recovery or custom launcher), just navigate to the /ISO/VIDEO/ folder and select your ISO, it'll reboot into XMB with the ISO mounted for video playback.

To mount UMD to USB to dump them you can use a plugin like Custom Firmware Extender (highly recommended since you can use it anywhere, not just the XMB, and it has lots of other goodies like RemoteJoy).

New release here:
https://github.com/PSP-Archive/ARK-4/releases/tag/r4193

Fixes a few bugs and adds a few features.

  • Improved Recovery menu plugin handling to properly restore comments (#57).
  • Fixed bug in plugin system where blank lines would be treated as EOF.
  • Added option to hide PIC0 and PIC1 in XMB (#54).
  • Added option to disable text glow in custom launcher and recovery.
  • Unlock High Memory gets disabled if UMD cache is enabled to prevent a crash.

I'm new to psp homebrew but I'm in love with ARK! I like how it's open source, minimal, modern and the fact that supports old homebrew and old plugins (even supporting leda.prx) but I miss some of the options in PRO and LME like UMD iso mode, registry hacks, advanced settings and especially cpu and xmb overclock. I've header that you will make an all-in-one for people that want the extra features of other FWs and I would love to see it, keep up the good work!

@Acid_Snake is very open to hearing what features people want. He's incorporated several of my suggestions.

there is option in recovery menu to overclock cpu. you cant set specific clock times, but you can choose where overclock should be active.
i would love to see option to set overclock or powersave per game, just like i can set plugins per game ;)

btw
great CFW, i can't find easter egg yet :D

You can actually tell ARK to overclock only in specific games, since the settings system uses the same exact format (and code) as the plugin system, you can manually open settings.txt file and do something like this:
ULES0000, overclock, on
You can't do this in the recovery menu to keep it simple and easy to use.

The easter egg is a message that appears when you install and run ARK in a very specific way that isn't meant to be.
The only tip I can give is that it's for Vita only.

You can install plugins like Custom Firmware Extender to bring back those "missing" features (like UMD USB mounting and setting a very specific clock), highly recommended as it looks really nice and modern so it blends perfectly with ARK.

If by "UMD ISO mode" you mean the ISO Driver (Inferno, M33, etc) then that feature can't be brought back to ARK since there's only one ISO driver available (Inferno 2), which is more than you'd ever need anyways since it has less bugs and more compatibility compared to previous drivers. If you were to replace Inferno 2 with another driver like the first Inferno or M33 then you'd loose a lot of features (like 8K blocks, JSO and DAX, etc) and some homebrew on PS Vita might stop working (including the Custom Launcher itself) unless you do a workaround like mounting a fake iso (which is what Adrenaline and ARK-2 do). All in all there's no real reason to mess with ISO drivers in ARK-4 since the one (and only one) packed in has all you will ever need.

I didn't know that there was a plugin to extend the functionality thanks! About the iso mode, yes I'm talking about the option "UMD ISO mode" since on PRO, Inferno 1 sometimes "friezed" the game since then I just used M33 which works fine, I'm happy that Inferno 2 is enough since I play a lot of old homebrew.
