What a day i awake to a whirlwind of change.
When i fell asleep i was not this way...i was a regular everyday man. Not any more now I am a guard
Today my activities consisted of this:
walking around
hearing footsteps
ignoring footsteps
adjusting uniform
discussing olympics/stinger missiles/things with the guards
played shuffleboard
Really this job is very tiring. I walked a whole day around this building. It doesnt seem like much but when you consider the fact that we are the only shift booked you realize that this 24hr shift really means that I have been on duty since I was born. AS a young child i was promised a life away from the job. like some sort of training i thought that i was going to develop and grow into something...something more than this. Nope im still a guard LOL. now im just taller and stuff but the job is exactly the same. Every single guard is dressed exactly the same. It is very cold and we wear thick coats that are white so that we blend in with the snow. The only discerning characteristic between us is the look in the young ones eyes as you can see that the hope has not died yet. But, like the snowflakes that they have such fun with in their youth their minds will change...have to adapt. Theyll soon learn that their old frosty friend is now a constant reminder of the constant chill i feel...not only just from the cold but the shiver i feel knowing that i will leave this world with the indentations left by my remains as the only discernable addition i was able to make to this broad planet i had the misfortune to call home.
And then I realized that with all of this thinking i had wandered off course. Were those...footsteps? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP Guard From metal gear solid.
