Why I have been hardly posting anything on the temp for the last few months.

I will keep this short. Over the last few months my mums dementia had gotten a lot worse and I had to move back home to Stornoway to care for her. Even though the time was hard many a laugh was had between the two of us. Yesterday I gave my mum a bath and we once again had a morning of laughter and then she said she was feeling sleepy so she went for a little nap. And the laughter ended. Mum passed away and I am heartbroken. I really don't know what else to say I'm just lost and in a daze. Thank you for all my friends here who have kept my spirits up over the last few months and to anyone reading this give your loved ones a hug and tell them how much you love them everytime you see them because you never know when there time may come to leave you.

My deepest sympathy! It's never easy to lose one of your parents (I lost both of mine). If it's any consolation, there is no better way to pass away than in your sleep.

I only can tell nothing hurts like the first moment, but with time you will start to replace the sorrow with the happy memories, she'll be with you fir ever on they.

That was a fairly fast progression from your earlier posts.

Hope you get where you need to be.
The last six months was just Brutal. She went from being able to have a proper conversation with you mind you with the odd forgetful moment and she was up walking about and doing good. Then she preety quickly went downhill. First she was unable to walk without any help then as the weeks went by she got more and more forgetful and she couldn't get out of bed at all. Then about w weeks ago she stopped eating anything and we could only get her to drink water and protein drinks the Dr recommended. Then last week the Dr put her on end of life care.

As for me we'll I'm just keeping myself busy organising everything and letting everyone know. If I stop I think and I'm running out of things to keep myself busy with.

I has been there with my father. The pain gets "easy".
But for my has been 20 years and still some days I woke craving for call him just to realize I cannot, and the tears come again. My best wishes for you and your family.

That really was quick then. Seen similar but usually only when someone on the downhill gets put with the rest of the vegetables ("your kids choose your nursing home" is more than a joke); keep them thinking and they will stick around longer.

Never really sure what is better though. I have seen people linger in some atrocious states for years, I have seen those fade out slowly, and those burn out fast. Sounds like you made something of it though and likely have no regrets beyond the "I could have done more" thing that everybody has -- sounds like kids around, eating own food, in own house, presumably the odd trip somewhere fun (whatever that might be -- most people with dementia, especially late stage, are incapable being duplicitious so if they looked happy with a trip to the shops then they were)... don't underestimate that one.

Sorry to hear that @AmandaRose
I truly mean it when I say that I'm feeling your grief.

I hope to not sound like an asshole with the following... but living/caring for a relative with dementia is pretty awful. Experienced that with my grandpa and it's an awful memory I have to live with.

Wish you a fast recovery.
We're here for you if you need our support.

only ps5 updated to latest firmware can go on psn, jailbroken ones just don't use psn or they risk getting flagged or banned, altho spouting profanity in online play alredy does that
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Keep current Gen consoles stock mod last gen imo

Anyone dumb enough to get banned for spouting profanity deserves it.

Then how come you do it and don't get banned ? or is it a question of getting caught doing it ?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
wtf is the point of banning swearing in games? that's utterly a dumb decision

the new generation playing MWII won't be as hardened as the previous one playing original MW2

What's the point of video games? Kids playing video games won't be as hardened as the previous ones getting shoved down a hillside.
