Transsexual cat

So I've made a transsexual out of me cat.
Because cisgender scum like you should be annihilated >:C
Jokes aside.
Lenin really is a "t******".

Anyway, I won't go into to much detail.
It all happened over a year ago when Lenin got bladder stones.
The cat didn't showed any signs of him having it until the very last moment (white crusty layer on the pee spot where he peed on me bed)
He did pee on me bed before once but I blamed me other cat for it cause she had a habit of peeing in corners outside of the litterbox.
The first incident was just normal pee.
Anyway, after bringing the cat to the vet and learning he had bladder stones, we began flushing him out.
All went well and Lenin got medication.

After the medication stopped, the problem returned.
This time, the vet flushed Lenin again and had a catheter inserted to help him pee properly.
Again, medication and this time a special diet.

Everything went well (ofcourse it went well, cat hates vets and doesn't show signs cause it's a stupid cat) during it but somehow, he started to dribble pee from time to time.
I've had him have urinary tests to check if he still had struvite crystals in his urine but every time there where only trace amounts.
Vet told me that due to the first time he ever had bladder stones, the possibility existed that Lenin's bladder was damaged.
Something I already figured out but you know how medical staff is.
Vet eventually came up with 2 solutions.
Medication + diet or a penile surgery, to which I got more info from him.
Vet told me that they could manage it with the diet and kinda wrote the penile surgery off as a last resort.

Anyway, Lenin has been given a special diet to lower the amounts of magnesium and phosphates in his urine to reduce the chances of crystallization.
Together with medication, on recommendation of said vet.
This initially went well, except for the pee dribbling problem and rare growling when peeing when he was off his medication.

Fast forward 8 months, after another urinary test revealed that Lenin still had a bladder infection, I was given some anti biotics for the cat (which was an absolute fucking nightmare to administer to him) that was supposed to clear up the problem.
Not 4 days after he finished the anti biotics, Lenin started bleeding when he took a piss.
That moment me mum rushed him to the vet (I was at me brother for the week) and had him taken in.
To which point me mum called me and said that Lenin was supposed to get a penile surgery.
I, obviously irritated at the fact that the vet told me they could manage it with medication and diet went home and picked Lenin up the following morning to bring him to the veterinary surgeon.
After an immediate surgery that same morning, I got a call saying the surgery was a success.
Lenin's penis was removed and his urethra was sewed to the outside skin, essentially, making him a female cat without a vagina.
Lenin was to be kept there for 48 hours for observation.
Understandable cause it's not just some surgery that was performed.

Once I picked him up the chief vet there told me that Lenin was doing fine, eating and drinking, properly peeing and obviously a lot of meowing cause he missed his butler.
Turns out that Lenin's urethra in his penis was incredibly narrow, a tiny amount of crystals was enough to block it.

The surgery took place on Sept 29th.
It is now Oct 5th.
Ever since it happened, Lenin has undergone a transformation from agitated cat to a complete lazy cunt
Lenin is finally the old self again.
I, worried and frustrated, "scammed" out of ~2 grand worth of tests, meds and vet visits, was also relieved to see the happy fatty being happy again.
The surgery itself cost 1400 quid, this is excluding the emergency take in at the other vet.
It's not the money that I'm irritated about, no.
It's the fact that the vet basically lied to me, saying that medication would prevent this ordeal whilst knowing that surgery is the definitive answer.

I think it's a bit cheesy to say "I've learned something from it" but I did.
I learned that despite what vets tell you that they can manage it on diet and medication, penile surgery is the only permanent solution for male cats with FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease)
A problem that frequently occurs in castrated male cats.

So to anyone with a male cat that displays those problems.
Do yourself a favor and opt for an "expensive" penile surgery.
It's definitely better for the cat as constant vet visits, urinary tests, medication intakes and all the other nonsense just puts unnecessary stress on them.
Now, Lenin's case was also due to his urethra being narrower then other male cats so it might possibly be that other cats will quickly recover from it.
But take it as a word of advice.
Save your cat the stress and make sure you get a second opinion or let them properly inspect his urinary tract.

As for Lenin, he's happily sleeping on me lap, not caring a single bit that he doesn't have a penis anymore.
He looks like a baboon with his bottom shaved but it doesn't seem to affect him at all.
I asked Lenin if I should shave a poodle cut into his fur but the only answer I got was "prrt prrt"

Update:
Took Lenin to the vet for a check up, vet confirmed his wound healing nicely, urethra wasn't swollen.
He eats, drinks and pees properly, no more growling sounds, no more pain!
