So much win

Just arrived back in Dhahran 4 hours ago
I've finished unpacking and here's a short list of what I got for myself (from Japan)

Toon Link Plushie(YES)
Shiroyasha Gintoki Figurine (HELL YES)
Classic Megaman Model Kit (FUCKING YES)
Finished Model
DSC04244.jpg
Sonic Plushie (HELL FUCKING YES)
the things listed above :D
DSC04256.jpg
From Korea
Ocarina (Damn Straight)
Wooden Sword (Damn. Straight.)

I finished making the Megaman Model about 20 minutes ago, and for my first model, it doesn't look half bad :D I only screwed up on the finicky E-tank label that involved water and I'm quite sure being able to read it probably would've helped me not screw it up, but hey, I'll just print one off later.
I didn't find a Domo-Kun plushie for some reason ._. here I thought they grew like trees over there, speaking of trees, the cherry blossoms were damn amazing, I took a couple 3DS photos of them so I'll post those later. I was alos unable to find the Kid Icarus AR cards, neither 711 or Family mart had them ._. good thing Club nintendo is going to start selling them.
The Arcade situation over there was...strange, In Korea it was definitely worth checking out an arcade if you had 1000 won, you'd definitely get the most out of your money, but would be very limited in game choice. Japan on the other hand had a shite ton of Arcade games for ridicolous prices, 200 yen for a single crane game? Shit. But being an idiot I managed to blow about 800 yen attempting to win a 20th anniversary Sonic Poster, thankfully my friends pulled me away before I could lose anymore.
Onto other buisness, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. for the fivedays I was in japan (out of 11 days in the whole trip) I GOT 115 STREETPASS TAGS, O_O I've nearly completed all the puzzles, only 10 Mario Kart 7 pieces remain, and the amount of Weapon Gems I have in Kid Icarus has skyrocketed. Streetpass is damn effective if you're in the right place FOR SURE.

Anyways once I finish uploading the pictures they'll go right here. Ciao

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
