should i cheat?

well, i promised to never cheat again and but i really don't like grinding very much because it seems like a chore when you're grinding too much, and bit by bit i lose interest in a game.

but the feeling of finishing a game using cheats isn't the same as finishing it w/o resorting to cheats.

When I saw the topic I was expecting some sort of relationship problems thread

But for cheating I dont cheat unless ive already beaten the game or its just too hard/boring

Life is short, so are nerves.

Cheat in a game is no big deal, unlike cheating on people.. so please yourself if it gets too difficult after your tried long enough :)

First, if you cheat only do it offline, for yourself ;)

Use cheats only when it's really too hard for you to pass a specific place (not all the game).
Decide what you want, just complete the game to know the story, or enjoy the battles, etc.

just choose the cheat to fit your needs, don't enable full cheats or you'll get bored.
Select them to still enjoy the game enough.

I'm playing a game which I would like I could cheat, but fate is against me
I'm playing Star Ocean 3 on PS2, and this game is not really hard, it just became unbelievable "not progressively" hard.
The difficulty is random in this game. Hard enemies have soooo little exp, and 1 single easy enemy in all the game has 4X the exp of the hard battles... it's really not natural.
All went good until I reach level 50. Now to advance in the game I had to pass an area where I died on a single blow. Each hit = instant death .... fun game really

I made 20Lv per characters on a SINGLE enemy, at a single place. It lasted few days and it's getting so boring :(
Fighting always the same thing again and again, and it's a soooo easy battle, I win in few strikes, change area, come back, fight again, repeat ... do that for 10 hours .... IT'S NOT ENOUGH !!!
I'm advancing through the story and I can't fight current level monsters. For the same type of enemies, one time I win so easily, the next (same enemies battle) I'm killed in one hit because enemies strength is ridiculously high and it's game over. I have to save after each battles and it's getting on my nerves :hateit:

The game was good, battles were fine.
Why all of a sudden I had to make 20 levels on a single place for 10 hours and it's not enough?
Why Battles (with same enemies) are randomly hard? one time I win in one strike, one time enemy win in one strike. Difficulty is sized up so badly.

and I came where I would like infinite HP to at least don't make another 50Lv on the same battle (which would, again, not benefit at all?).
The problem is that I have a modchip on my PS2, and all 3 Cheat devices I've tried don't like my modchip and don't detect disc change :rofl2: I'm screw

That's my fate. I have to play it the normal way (but I would swear that my current play have a problem in progressive difficulty! dying in one hit in the same battle you just won easily is not normal)

For people who know that game, +20Lv was enough to enter and pass the sphere company, and I'm now right after Sphere company when all enemies changed to harder one. I'll have to make 20 more levels on the same tank enemy on the moon for 20 hours ;__;

I cheat in games only for these 2 cheats:-
- NO Random Encounters (By holding a specific button)
- Instant Random Battle (By pressing said button/buttons)

Because sometimes I dont feel like fighting at all and like to relax abit.

And at times I'm in a rather trance mode, and want to keep battling without any stop.

Oh, if you're gonna cheat, do so, but not in online games plox. I hate cheaters/hackers in online games.

I thought about some relationship when I read the title....
Oh well.

No, cheating takes all the fun.

when i first played chrono trigger, i cheated on the last boss and finished the game. i wasnt satisfied with the ending.
a year later, i picked up chrono trigger and played it through with no cheats or walkthrough. i felt very satisfied about everything from the game.

so now, i rarely cheat in a game because it takes away the "satisfying" feeling from the game after you complete it.

Sometimes (very seldom honestly, mostly before when I was younger) I used exp multipliers just when I was bored of fighting and needed to level up.
Temporarily speeding up the grinding, not max level directly or so, but just having it on when I need to level up but don't feel like grinding.
But haven't done that in several years now, can't be bothered to cheat honestly.
Or say for example you have this mission in GTA, which you try and try and try again, and always fail; then I use cheats, to get past that point.

But yeah, cheat if you want to, but don't over do it!
just a little, so that you:
1) Won't be bored by all the cheating
2) Won't be bored by the tedious grinding/being stuck/whatever.

If the game is that much of a chore to play, then I would recommend trying a different game. But I understand that sometimes, you just want to finish the game, so cheating is probably going to be your best bet.
