(RAGE) Kid doesn't like Contra, gets made fun of by adults and oth

This pisses me off. So some kid tries Contra on the NES for the first time and doesn't like it. He claims the game has bad graphics and sound is bad, and he doesn't like the gameplay.

Sound typical amirite? You can't expect a kid to like such an unintuitive and unforgiving game. Unfortunately, some people went out and are trying to defend their childhood by posting stupid shit about this kid.

As you can see from the YouTube Comments, people don't understand that Contra isn't such a good game any more.

Now people are pissing on this kid for being a brat and not appreciating bad classic games. You see, Contra is quite hard as shit. Kids have much better games to play. Instead of rushing through a level trying not to get shot they can fly a plane over an enemy base pretend to lose control and eject last second out of sight, then sneak quietly by making gun fire to attract attention to your position and run around while people come to check, into the enemy base.

Which sounds like a better time?

Imagine if Halo 3 had no AI, with just enemies running towards you shooting rockets at you while you have little to no cover.

Yeah, I thought so.

(Contra does really suck BTW, way to repetitive.)

Halo 3 doesn't have kickass music, whilst on the other hand, Contra has kickass music. It also doesn't suck balls.

This game is actually quite fun.... I hate games nowadays with mostly story and hardly any action.

Contra is really fun. What game are you talking about? Sure isn't halo 3. As for ai was that an expansion or something because last time I played the ai did nothng but die.

Even though I think AlienRebels is the best Contra game the first one is really great as well.

I don`t see how this kid will like Battletoads either, if he can`t appreciate the music in Contra. That tune is simply amazing!

BTW: How old is this kid? Isn`t WaW rated M? I think something like this is irresponsible...

I agree with the OP to a degree. But the OP also needs to stop being so damned judgmental.

It's a game from a different era, of course the kid isn't going to enjoy it. Just like I thought that Atari 2600 games were pure crap while growing up.

And also, the guy in the video is coming off as a condescending doucenozzle, by laying terms like 'Halo 3 Fanboy' and the like. I like the concept, but it needs better presentation, and an interviewer who isn't a biased dick who's stuck in the 80s.

And Contra still is fun if you're up to the challenge, but it doesn't matter if it's a good game or not compared to others. It stands on it's own right, just like modern games of today.

That's funny you can't find enough cover in contra; you can duck, you can even hide under water. Sorry that the whole "one shot death" thing is too much for Mr. Bigtime Halo Player with your AUTOMATIC LIFE RECOVERY. Sorry that when you take cover in Contra your dick doesn't sew itself back on like in your precious Halo.

:rofl: That's what your would expect if you've never played a NES before and just picked it up in the middle of 2009. Of course it doesn't look as god as your Halo 3 or whatever, It's an old system, but legendary. :rofl:

Yeah, and how old are you now? Back when I was his age, Contra was pretty awesome. This era everything looks better every year, with new gameplay, so you can't expect a young kid who grew up with that to instantly love a game that doesn't have what you're used to. It's easier for an older gamer to appreciate an older game because we saw how everything evolved from the start. This kid was born into the FPS era, and 2D platformers, although fun, are starting to fade out.


It would be like driving nothing but Lambos and Ferraris and then some guy coming up and be like, "Hey, why you try out this Ford Model T?" You might appreciate the Model T, but you're not gonna choose it over an exotic sports car.

I'd have to disagree. The only game with a lot of 10 year olds playing is Halo 3. Others I rarely hear any

I'm 13 and I absolutely love Contra. I first played it about 3 years ago when my dad pulled out his old NES to show me games from when he grew up. As for the Call of Duty and the Halo 3 shit, I kicked the Xbox out the window after 10 minutes of playing that garbage.

I hope you can understand sarcasm. >.< I didn't literally kick the damn thing out the window. I stopped using it. Now the only people who use it are my family for DVDs.

Dude, you fucking stole my analogy.

Contra on the SNES is better anyways. A lot better. The only NES games that I think stand up today are SMB3 and Kickle Cubicle.
