I've found myself playing Minecraft more lately, mainly since I can get on TempCraft again (AVG was blocking it for a few weeks or so, and I found out when I uninstalled it). Figured I'd share some Minecraft-related stuff.
Texture Packs:
I've found my favorite texture pack of all-time...SMP's Revival. It's a great pixel-art pack with awesome terrain, items, paintings, and it has a ton of mod support, which brings me to my next topic...
Mods:
After wanting to stick to playing "vanilla" for the longest time, mainly to show my dedication to Minecraft, I've realized that it's not bad to use mods, and decided to start using mods again. I went on a little mod spree and found a ton of awesome mods that I've missed out on...
Seasons:
This mod was just released last week, and I found out about it when looking through SMP's pack's mod support. Man, is it freaking awesome.
Wild Grass:
Now, I used to use this mod pretty much all the time, up until 1.6, when notch added the official tall grass. However, it was pretty boring, seeing as it only had a single texture/height. So, I downloaded the version of wild grass that turns the official tall grass into wild grass, that uses the wild grass textures.
Biome-Colored Water:
I tried a mod that did this a while back, but it was pretty glitchy. So, I recently tried this version, and it works like a charm. The texture pack I use supports it as well:
I'm gonna look for some more tomorrow, and I might try out the Aether as well, although I'd rather wait until the official support for the texture pack I use is complete.
