I can't fall asleep, so I thought I should to do.
So, I was just playing Mario Kart 64 for a little while earlier today, and I realized that some way that the next Mario Kart game could encourage skill more. My idea was to allow the player to get any item in the entire item wheel by timing his/her button press. To make it actually require constant attention from the player, the game could do plenty of things to change the way the item wheel thing works. That could be inconsistent speed, or empty slots, or maybe having it to begin turning in the other direction half-way through the process. All of the items would also have randomized for every time the player runs into the item box. I dunno, just an idea I had.
