I fell in love...

but in a manga character...wtf.

but i'm not like the guy who married a pillow.

i feel totally depressed yesterday. it's because i love a person who isn't real and can't be mine. dammit. i feel like i've been dumped right now. this is the result of having no friends. i thought i was happy, but that manga made me remember the difference of having someone to love and being alone.
today i'm still depressed but not as much as yesterday because i had my ex talk with me. she recommend that i increase my real world activity. which i plan to do but don't know how. i don't have much friends, i can count them in one hand. i also don't know how to make friends. but i'll still try. can you help me how?

i just need advice on how to make friends with different kindsof people. like how to approach them, what to say first. what should i avoid.

Yeah, your ex is right, get out.

Go to parties, and believe it or not, getting drunk actually does open you up a lot more. Or just go to the library or whatever, and see if there are any people there playing a game, and walk in and say the best line from The Office:

"Whats up, Muh Nerrrrds."

That's how I got some friends, went to the library, saw some people playing YuGiOh, just watched, then I went and got some for myself, and just asked whoever if he wanted to go against me.

but i ahs no handheld. and most gamers here only play mmo's and DOTA. i can't have friends with dota, it only has lots of trashtalk.
school has small library, very small. it's not college. only 2 yrs course.
but the city library is big. i also read books. so instead of games. i'll try books instead. thanks.

Well, generally the best people to go with are the ones who like similar things, so if you like what SS says, follow his advice. I'm not gonna lie, I have around the same amount of friends as you. The ones you can count on one hand are generally the most important.

I wasn't talking about handhelds brahski, I was talking about the actual games.

Hell even before I went to the library (and no I had friends through school, I was just bored and my friends weren't at school), there were people playing chess.

Just don't be this guy.

And really, you don't need hundreds, or even dozens of friends. Even if you only have 2-3 really good friends, that's all you need.

Out of the people I know in person, I can say that I would consider 5 of them my best friends.

You just need to focus on the friends you have now and do cool things with them.

If you're looking to make new friends, don't try too hard. I met my 5 best friends by accident, or by being introduced through other friends.

If you put yourself out there, you'll meet so many people that you'll eventually find people who just click with your personality, and you'll know that it's a relationship you want to keep.

oh, i feel stupid. okay. and will simply approaching other people and talk to them about something thatinterest them okay? won't they get mad at me? i've never really talked first to someone i don't know.

@densetsu no i definitely won't be that guy. i have only 2 friends right now. my ex and my best friend. my best friend is always busy and my ex doesn't leave her house.

Not if they're talking about something that you have in common with. Honestly, a lot of people who are in your situation, resort to the library. That's where everybody like you gathers, though no one admits it.

You could be cunning and plot out the entire scenario.
-First find someone who seems like they might be a good person.
-Subtly stake out a set time frame that will occur on a regular basis (easiest by utilizing the class schedule, though generally it limits you to the people in your class)
-Obtain some background information. Not much, but enough to know if you would find this person even mildly amusing.
-Obtain some meager knowledge about a common thing you both hate (for example, a teacher)
-Casually chat with them about your annoyances with that teacher's abilities to teach, after class has ended of course.
-Slowly broaden the range of topics you and your "new acquaintance" talk about.
-Slowly creep your way into being their friend (and maybe even best friend if you want)
-Take advantage of them :tpi:
-Mission successful, you can go back to loving 2D characters.

Just make sure you don't tell them your plans.

hehe. this kinda amused me but sad to say, this plan won't work. i'm not in a university or college, it's a... i don't know what to call it but you only get associate degrees here. i know all my classmates. they know me. the places we go and the things we do are different.

oh and what i'm looking for isn't someone who'll satisfy me sexually but someone to hear my stories, laugh with me, talk with me and other things. someone who's there if i feel down. like a shoulder to cry on. crying alone hurts a lot more than crying while talking to a friend. i used to have my bestfriend, but that was 3 years ago. when we went different ways.

i hate that :angry2: made me so sad.

Yeah I know what it's like to fall in love with an Anime character (Yes I know you said Manga but in my case Anime). Sounds crazy but sometimes it helps just to believe what's fiction here is another dimension and she's out there somewhere..
Then again at times it could be depressing.. but just sometimes the thought of being together even if it never could happen helps...

Then again I'm only attracted to Anime girls so I might be giving bad advice to a "normal" person but whatever.. it works..
