I feel sorry for my cousin

What I really cant understand about this is, why are his parents perfectly fine in letting him believe in a god that condones, [censored], incest, murder, slavery, pedophilia and genocide but get pissed at him, for playing with pokemon cards and having posters of these imaginary monsters on his wall? If you ask me, his parent really need to their priorities in order.

My parents took away my Pokemon stuff when I was younger, (Baptist) but not because it was evil or anything like that, it was because I put Pokemon in such a high spot in my life it turned into an unhealthy obsession. They were actually the ones who first got all of the stuff for my and my sister in the first place, then we just ran with it. Finally they said it was getting out of hand, it was unhealthy, and they took it all away. I didn't see how bad it was till I saw my sister's reaction, then I realized that yes, we had let them get too important to us. Over the years since then we have had Yu-Gi-Oh, Medabots, Beyblades, etc, long lists of things not that much different from Pokemon, but the lesson I learned from Pokemon was to not let things take over my life anymore. I even still play Pokemon (Diamond/Heart Gold) from time to time, but only once in a while because I have plenty of other games to enjoy to. My brother-in-law (also baptist) grew up with Pokemon and never had it taken away, never had a problem. He never let it become an obsession, he just moved on from it and continued life.

I think where some churches get mixed up is the jump from Pokemon to evil. Pokemon itself isn't bad, it's what we do with it, same goes for anything else. If you let something become an obsession then that obsession is the evil, the thing is still just a thing and you need to deal with the problem (the obsession) itself.

J.K. Rowling is a Christian, and, so far within the 1st two chapters of the Deathly Hallows, I've heard Harry Potter & Co. say "Thank God" three times.

But of course, Rowling is just lying, and she's trying to use reverse psychology.

I guess it all depends on the level of religiousness (Wtf, is that a word??). I'm christian and got to keep my Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. That was years ago though.


Username contains 666 since that number was easy to remember since all the stories I read said to keep clean of that number... And that this is the same username for the net that I used since 13.

Yeah, I know what they mean, I'm just use to typing "there" than I am "their".

My parents are pretty darn religious, but they don't care about video games at all (my dad is currently hooked on Angry Birds, and he doesn't mind the mindless bashing of pigs).

They know that I play Pokemon but they just tease me for it. Nothing big.
