So far, this summer break has been great...
First off, we put our pool up in my backyard, so I've been able to escape from the heat whenever I want. My friends actually want to swim too, instead of playing Xbox all day.
Second, my 18th birthday is in 11 days. Money isn't the most abundant thing right now for me, so I have to think about what I want carefully. I was thinking about either a used DS Lite or DSi (Not XL, as I really don't need bigger screens for a higher price), Pokemon SoulSilver (I still have the Pokewalker from my previous copy which I sold, but it doesn't work with flashcards obviously), and a good flash card from ShopTemp.
I'll most likely get $300 total in cash, with $100 of that being on a gift card. My grandparents have given me a $100 bill every year so far, and my mom said she's giving me $100 on a Visa gift card. My dad usually gives me $50, and my other relatives (Aunts, Uncles, etc.) usually give $50 total. So if I get a refurbished DSi, which is $150, I'll have $150 left to spend on other stuff. Pokemon SS is $40, so I'll have $110 after that. The DSTWO is $40, but I heard it's not that great. If I got it, I'd have $70 left.
Again, I'm not entirely sure if I'll get that, since I might put it towards a 3DS pre-order, as well as some for my Call of Duty: Black Ops pre-order. I was also looking at getting a phone, and I remembered that the new iPhone came out. I like iPod products, and I would like a phone, so I might get that. It's $200 with a 2-year contract, and the cheapest monthly plan is $55 total, not to mention the $36 one-time activation fee. Or I could just get a 3GS which is $99. The 3GS seems more reasonable, but the iPhone 4 has quite a few new features.
I'm going to get a job, so I'll be able to pay my own phone bill, as well as my driver's license after I turn 18, so I can actually drive to my job. I've applied to a few different places, but none of them have called me back, and they never answered any of my calls to them.
