EA spokesperson comment receives most Reddit downvotes of all time

Currently at -494,000 and still falling. This is in response to the fact that you have to play forever or pay for microtransactions to unlock some characters in Star Wars: Battlefront 2. The schadenfreude is too rich here, might give me diabetes.

IMO everybody should just buy the classic Battlefront 2 on Steam now that they've added new multiplayer.

Yeah it's basically already a meme/copypasta. People just throw the little money bag emojis between every other word in that quote.

Honestly, why is this company still a thing? Not only would Nintendo benefit, but every single gamer, if this company finally broke up.

Well he does say "Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback". Perhaps this flood of negative feedback will create some changes.

Yeah they supposedly reduced the credit requirement to get those characters by 75%, but then they reduced the speed at which players gain credits by 75%. Typical EA move, they think people are dumb.

Remember, it's not just EA which is ****ing things up with micro-transaction and loot boxes.

Just look at WB, Take2, MS, etc. with a special honour going to Activision/Blizzard who are even making patents on it to make it more FUBAR.

Don't worry they will see that this earns them more money than they ever got with a game so they won't ever take that back, actualy the other way around has a much higher chance of beeing done ... they will just higher the prices even more and earn more money with this.

plus later you won't even be able to get the stuff free trough playing anymore so that there will be more people paying extra cash.

than they might take the thing some mmos do and give you the stuff only for a few days than you have to pay again.

@tech3475 Unfortunately it feels like it started with Rocket League, but that game's system is all cosmetic and relatively cheap ($1 = 1 key, plenty of free cosmetics). If other publishers copied that exactly, there would be no problem.

Don't think microtransactions and lootboxes are the real problem, especially if it means less pay dlc. Problem lies with the abuse of them. Making them impossible or nearly impossible, unless you pay for it.

So EA had a quick-refund button for pre-orders on their website, but apparently it was getting too much use and now it's gone. You have to call them now to get refunded. Sure glad I didn't waste money on this.
