Just got my SEXY new computer!

So, to make a long story short, when my dad passed away, he left me a whole crapload of coins. For the LONGEST time I thought they were worthless, so they were sitting in the storage shed for years. I finally got around to seeing what they were worth. So, I took them to a dealer expecting to probably get MAYBE $200. I got roughly $3000. :wtf: So...I bought my mom a pink moped (yes, yes I did.)


And I went down to Fry's Electronics and got myself an Open Box deal for a sweet little Acer Predator G5900

CPU: Intel Core i7 i7-870 / 2.93 GHz
Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz
HDD: 1.5Tb x 2 (One is mine that I had from my old computer)
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5850

What's the PSU? That's very important if you want to upgrade.

And for a computer like this, replacing it instead of upgrading would practically be criminal.

I've got the same computer.
The only differences iare that I've got a 80GB SSD ,a 1TB HDD ,my i7 has 3.4 GHz and I've got a Radeon 6870

Meh I would but I think I won't build one until after I get a computer 3 years from now.

You are a lucky man (besides the "father passing away" part, sorry to hear about that).

Although, I can't help but think that if the coin dealer was willing to give you $3000 for the coin stash, they were probably worth much more than that. The dealer may have shafted you :unsure:

Any Nerd worth his salt without a 1 year old son would have built his own computer. :P

I have a very small townhouse, and a very curious little boy. Building my own PC just isn't an option right now, but upgrading it in the future may very well be. So, I bought a very customizable rig that has some balls right out of the gate.

And for everyone asking, my PSU is 750. I may get a 900 when I choose to upgrade my Graphics card.
