Ys Seven = Happiness

After raging at Birth By Sleep yesterday, I decided to try out a different game today. Going through suggestions, one name stuck out to me, primarily because it was a large font, bolded, and red. The game was Ys Seven.

THE GAME IS FREAKIN' SWEET. The combat is really fun, as well as the simple skill system. The first Turtle boss was great to fight. Dodging around, rolling in for the attack, and slaughtering it mercilessly. The opening almost killed me as I just had to run around town 50 times talking to everybody until the correct events transpired, but once I got to the actual fighting, the interest came back. I actually died against the first titanos (sorry if I get something wrong, just started playing) the first time I played, so I loaded my save and leveled up to about level 6 with Adol and Dogi. I then proceeded to destroy the Two Headed Turtle with my fully upgraded armor and third weapons (first weapon given to you, synthesized weapon, second weapon in the shop list). The damage counter didn't have a chance to even fade until we entered the end phase where I had to get the new power.

tl;dr This game is awesome.

I started playing Ys Seven as well. It really is a fun game, no bullshit just gaming bliss.

I usually have problems playing games through to the end without getting distracted. Ys Seven was not one of those. To make a long story short, Ys is my favorite series, and after being less than thrilled by 6 (Napishtim), Seven blew me away.

Ys Seven is great. When the game ended I wished that there were stuff to do post-game. ;A;

I ended up staying up an extra hour and a half last night playing this so I could beat the big ass insect titano. It was so late, I honestly can't remember any names at this point. I do know I'm off to the Flame Shrine now though and just got Aisha as my new third party member.

I just wrapped up Ys Book I & II and am now a few hours into The Oath in Felghana. I'm REALLY impressed with Oath. I'll probably roll right into The Ark of Napishtim and Seven there after. Maybe we'll get lucky and Falcom will bring IV and V to the PSP someday so we can have the entire collection on the PSP.

I'm excited to play one through three after this, not so much for six after reading about god awful loading times.

Side questing before heading off to the fifth shrine, since it's kind of a point of no return in terms of the first 12 side quests or so. After that, to the fifth and final shrine ago. How much more game awaits, I do not know!
