Been jogging again

I'm back to running. Though, it's not much compared to the average person's running time.

We have this big track by my place, that's bigger than a high schools track. And lately I've been going for runs. Why? First of all, I'm reeeeally overweight considering my height. Secondly, I need to get back to exercising. Where I had my surgery, there's a tiny little hole that hasn't sealed up yet, and the doctors said that exercising will help it heal faster. And I don't want to live with this problem for the rest of my life.

I take my iPod, and do as much as I can. Right now, I can only do two laps of jogging, then for the last have, I sprint until I get back home. I don't care at this point if I gain weight, because I have to train my body first to be able to handle excess heart pumping without getting tired. And then once my body can go longer periods of time before it gives out on me, I'm going to be going to my friends and lifting weights. I'm very shy of my body, so going to the Gym or swimming is out of the question.

Anyways, I need some good workout music. I googled stuff, but they're all crap lists, like Eminem, Bryan Adams, and all that stuff. And I can't exercise to that. Types of music that I'm into is like Punk Rock sort of. Like Motion City Soundtrack, The Hives, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, etc.

So people, list me some good work out music and help me lose all this excess weight! You'll be guaranteed a spot in heaven for helping someone who's a tubby fuck.

Shy of your body? What is this nonsense?!
*goes into rant that would get ignored anyway so typing it would be pointless*

Music: Every song ever from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. That's what I've been listening to for my commutes (biking). That and Turisas, Korpiklaani, Alestorm....*goes on*

Not into the whole J-Pop/rock/punk type music.

Also yes, I'm shy of my body. Ever since grade 4, I've always been made fun of. So it's scary shit and a phobia for me to let someone see me shirtless. Not to mention I'm pretty scarred up.

Anata wa hen desu yo..

OP: Just get a Wii with Wii Sports (the boxing game is good for losing weight). Running is hard on the legs and back.

No. Because that's pretty much a lazy way. I want to actually push myself.

Also, hard on the legs and back? If you have weak bones sure. But I want to make them stronger (obviously by drinking lots of milk and eating all the other stuff that helps), and build my muscles up.

Me? Strange?

Bitch.

Wii Sports for losing weight? ....UNCONTROLLABLE LAUGHTER! The boxing is the best exercise on there, and even then only if you do it wrong and just flail around, and even then it's not burning any significant amount of calories. After over an hour of flailing, you might break a sweat.

Running isn't hard on your legs or your back if you run correctly...

find a dog, tie him up, make him mad, have someone untie the dog. RUN!!!

Awesome, and where do the tunes come in?

you'll hear the dog's loud barking and yourself panting or maybe screaming for help.

Music ?

... go for some OST's of games and/or movies - sometimes its best to have something that isn't vocal when excersing; well for me that is.

Even if you don't like it. Captain Jack.

Really just find any song that makes you want to dance, even just a little, and use it.

Man the beat to that song totally reminds me of Boom Boom Rocket, or even Aqua.

See this song I heard at a party, and the beat is perfect for exercising to for me:

eurobeat.

It can be awkward or really strange sometimes, but I like it when I walk my dog or want to get high (no, I don't do drugs). This music here in special gives me a trance-like state.

i do 6 miles 4 or 5 times a week & i listen to audio books & sometimes some dance music (Orbital, Global Underground)
i only started running in the middle of september but i done a 10 mile race in november i want to do half a marathon next
im also over weight by 2 stone

Try to listen to a bit heavier artists and see how you like them :)

Something like CoB, Metallica, Slayer etc. I always listen to CoB when I work out.

If you like Linkin Park, try Bullet for my Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold. Its "harder" than LP, though.

Let me just say this; if you're planning on losing weight, make sure your diet is in order. Cut out the grains, refined sugars and processed food in general; focus on real foods, like meat, vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc. After a month or two of eating this way, your body will have adapted to burning your fat stores as opposed to burning glucose for energy. You'll be less hungry overall, and you won't be sending your metabolism on a sugar roller-coaster.

Also, don't overdo the jogging. You're actually better off with lots of walking (at a comfortable pace, no less) with sprint intervals now and then. Jogging just places excessive strain on your joints, as well as exacerbating overall inflammation in your body. Walking offers the same benefits without the discomfort.

As for weight lifting, you could actually just do body-weight exercises and receive the same benefits, if you wish. Push-ups, pull-ups, overhead presses, squats, planks; these 5 types will work your entire body. Do them whenever you feel like it, just keep things sporadic and fun.

As for the music? I'm personally a dark Drum & Bass man myself. If you want a taste of what I'm into, try listening to my mix here to see if it gets your blood flowing.

Yeah see, I'm 230-235, scared to go check. And it's all the weight that I've gained from the last two years from surgery. So it's able to come off fast. Like I did a couple runs, and I've already lost some weight around my waist.

Also, I'm not trying to lose weight right now. I'm trying to condition my body to be able to handle long periods of time where it's going to have to work hard.
