Scott Pilgrim

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME READING MY BLOG, GO SEE SCOTT PILGRIM INSTEAD!

That must have been the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life. Everything was perfect about it, the story, the characters, the humor, and of course the special effects. This will be my very first DVD that I will actually buy.

A-W-E-S-O-M-E MOVIE. Will buy the game on XBA as soon as I get back from my vacation.
It's not been released in the UK yet I think.
Anyway, the actors are retarded.
Its out today actually. August 25th

Gonna go and see it sometime. Possibly Tuesday when i go into Aberdeen for the Open Day (not gonna take all day and cba coming back to school for 1 lesson)

the trailer looks so awsome :D

then i went to the site of the local cinema and it said will be released to watch on 6 januari 2011 :S

It looks like a good movie; does Michael Cera's ineptitude to play anything but an awkward loser ruin it?

It looks a bit lame to be honest, but it's by the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, which were pretty good. I'll have to go see it sometime.

michael cera plays the exact same role in every movie

the movie its self is a commercial failure, gonna end up costing the studio about 40-60mil in lost revenue

Commercial success does not a good movie make. I give you Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen as a prime example of such a movie.

the movie has currently pulled over 825mil in revenue when they only spent about 150-200mil to make it
sure reviews were mixed at best but it still managed to pull in a ton of money

at the end of the day theres going to be a transformers 3 and scott pilgrim will never see the big screen again, im not a transformers fan by any mean but its just the way things are
something like this was going to happen no matter movie what when you spend alot of money on a movie that will only appeal to hipsters

I don't post on GBAtemp often (as my post count indicates), but I felt like I should address this.

I am not a Michael Cera fan. Not even close. I find him annoying and yes, as stated, he plays the exact same role in every movie (the role of Michael Cera).

So, does his ineptitude ruin the movie? No. Not at all. Not one bit. His personality and mannerisms are actually completely suited to the role, and I can't imagine anyone else playing the part quite as well as he did.

My girlfriend and I went to see it opening weekend here in the states, and we both absolutely loved it, start to finish. This is in spite of the fact that neither of us like Michael Cera (in fact, she hates him).

Long story short:
- Yes, the man plays himself as usual.
- Yes, his career will be over as soon as he's too old to play the awkward teenager anymore
- No, it does not by any means ruin the film.
- The entire movie is awesome, and every gamer should see it.

Speaking as someone who's probably one of the older people on this forum, I wholeheartedly recommend this movie to anyone who grew up playing video games in the 80s and early 90s. For that matter, anyone from the younger crowd who takes interest in games from that era should probably check it out too. The movie was not only very cool on its own, but was also just a great big chunk of nostalgia for me.

In the end, I feel like there's only one thing that needs to be pointed out to convince true gamers to see this movie:
It opens with the "Triforce coming together" melody from the opening screen of Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past.

If that doesn't make you want to see this movie, then the film just wasn't made for you.
