My wii just die :sad:

I was testing DS emulator for Wii "DeSmuMe Wii" while all of sudden no more TV signal.
I look at the wii, the power is off...

I checked the power cord, but I don't think it's the power adapter.
The Wii smells a little burned, I think a chipset just died.

Or is It just the fuse ?
That I don't know... and don't know how where it's located/how to test/change it.
I'll open the Wii another day to check the inside.

I hope it doesn't happen to my Wii!
For the record, I'm never to careful with my consoles (every single one I've had has fallen at least once, with my DS having a record of over 100 falls and still working!), and the only one that has "died" was my PSOne that stopped reading discs so I threw it to the garbage bin.

I'll check the inside tomorrow, but I'm not too confident.
Maybe only the wiikey died ? Should I de-solder it ? I think the wii would be powered even if the modchip was bad.

Anybody has a spare boot2 Wii to sell ? ;_;


PS : my last NAND dump is from 20 December 2009, I lose only 6 months of save games. That's almost ok.
Only One piece Cruise 1 to re-finish, other games I was either only testing them, or at the beginning.

Wow. That sucks.
I would hate it if my Wii died. All my save files would be gone!

I wonder if there's any way to back-up Wii save files.

I guess only infectus would work (and even with infectus, I don't know if it needs the Wii to be powered or if it's self powered).

just came back from work.
Tested to powered it again (I removed all the cords yesterday, when nothing worked, by security I removed the power) and it works !!

Damn, I really don't know what's wrong then :/
I'm currently saving my save game data :lol:

So, it wasn't the fuse.
Maybe the heat ? (RROD for Wii ? lol)

maybe the power adapter...
let's hope it will work correctly for a few days/months


I really thought my Wii was dead.

It's probably the Power Adapter... I've had a Wii recently which did the same thing. Leaving it disconnected from the main did the trick.

I still don't know what causes this and why it still works after that, but I'll try to look more into it if I get another Wii which does this.
