You can't just say something and not back it up and expect people to be convinced. You also cannot tell someone to "look it up themselves," resort to other sources without citation, and you also cannot use "the Bible says so."

You have to believe what you do from doing an actual study and introspection of what it is you believe, why you do so, and try to convince the other side. This is how debates work!

@nero99 Shutting her down like this isn't convincing anyone. She needs to understand why it is she's wrong logically and think this through. Unfortunately, I used to hold similar beliefs to OP when I was a naive teenager who just put blinders over things like how religious beliefs came to be, valuing evidence over just believing books written years ago when new evidence has surfaced disproving said book/document's claims, and the psychology of religious group, how ideas end up never getting closer scrutiny, and lots of other things the sheltered religious person's mind will consider when questions are actually considered.

I think this is a pretty obvious pattern that this blog post and several other posts were made for one and only purpose: gather people to agree with OP.
