I will not buy anything from Epic Games anymore

I used to be supportive of epic games, until today. I haven't logged in to my account for a while and I hit a wrong password. After that's I got a captcha test, only to realize the captcha test is no longer clicking exercise, it's actually a mini game where you need click picture of a mouse inside of maze, and click the one that cannot reach the cheese:

EhEtY42UMAAvRFI

I need to repeat it 10 times, and seriously the render is so small, and I think sometimes, there is no correct answer.

I gave up on this one, and then I tried the audio captcha. It's pretty simple, a voice will say a bunch of number, and all you need is to write down the number. Except it doesn't work. I have entered numbers and letters, but the captcha test keeps saying I fail the test.

Which is too bad, as I just bought Control DLC, planning to download it so I could play it in the weekend.

I tried to contact epic games through email to complaint about this, and I GOT THAT FREAKING CAPTCHA TEST ON ITS WEBSITE.

I couldn't access my games, and I couldn't complain about it either. Epic could eat s--- from now on. F--- them. Steam may have a near-monopoly status but there is a reason it's the top player in the market. I lost my faith in Epic Games. I don't know how long I will be locked from my account, but I am pissed enough to consider deleting my account at some point.

to bad you wasted your money. I dont even have an epic account. They do sux.
now you know why physical games are better. once you own the copy you dont need logins/passwords. You just pop in the game and play it.

Captcha tests are :shit:!
In the eyes of some websites the user is a potential security risk (DDOS) if they only selectively allow Javascript. I get greeted with "click on buses", "select all tiles with traffic lights", "storefronts" and so on all the time for not allowing every random piece of third-party code to be executed automatically on my computers.
More often than not the blurry pictures are ambiguous and I"fail" the test and have to do even more of this %"§&/$%. Fail in quotes because I don't think it is my fault.

I lost my faith in Epic Games. I don't know how long I will be locked from my account, but I am pissed enough to consider deleting my account at some point.
I totally get your anger but don't recommend deleting the account. You already paid for licenses. If you throw them away it is your loss. This will not hurt Epic.

It was at this moment, that @eriol33 knew...that he was redpilled about EGS!

Like, not even Steam has this CAPTCHA BS AFAIK, for real. What, is the mouse supposed to be some irony about the process of logging into one's account and how you're a rat in a maze?

Also, to counter what @KleinesSinchen said, I would delete your account. They got fucking hacked a few years ago, and due to my having an account on their forums from years ago (this is back when they were still making the Gears of War games before People Can Fly took over development) to upload some old maps of mine that I made in UT2K4, and yep, my old ass account wasn't safe.

To say I was pissed off would be an understatement, and is just one of the reasons why I've been against their little store in addition to Tim Sweeney's attitude being the kind of smug you see with too many internet Atheists. Control's on Steam, and if you don't want to pay to play it, well...I'll let you finish the sentence. ;)

Nice and clever Captcha puzzle, i wish they have same thing Here in EU, Instead we have 2-step auth, through GOOGLE generator.

Gotta love the Epic crybabies. Blame yourself for not knowing your own password and entering it incorrectly multiple times over. Get a password manager and you wouldn't have this issue. This is on you, yet you're going to blam Epic and not purchase from them anymore? LOL! It's called security, so someone other than yourself does't gain control of your account. Something told the system "Hey, this might not be the right person trying to log in." And that's an issue for you? Okay then.

and to be fair, it's not like you'll ever see this captcha again, not blaming the OP for fucking their password

@Pokemon_Tea_Sea_Jee thanks mate, unfortunately temp forum doesn't support gif, the panda dance is gorgeous.

I just tried and had to enter my password incorrectly 5 times for the captcha to show up. And you don't always get that same one. I only had to click on the image of a dog that was rotated in the correct position, one time. You're making a big stupid deal over YOU entering your password incorrectly. Steam doesn't make you do a captcha, but they do lock you out of your account for a while. Which would you rather have? Do a captcha and get access right away, or fug up on your password and be completely unable to log in for a period of time?

Yeah, they have different captchas, most of the time, you get spinny picture that you need to align, this thread is useless lmao

Yikes. I feel for you. If you've got proper security in place, as someone above mentioned, it can trigger CAPTCHA quicker. Some may not have much security and therefore jump to conclusions it's your fault, somehow, or jumping to the conclusion that you're not logging in on a new/friends device, or jumping to the conclusion that etc. etc., but I wouldn't listen to them.

Those kinds of things are annoying. Especially since they're using you to generate cash flow for them, training AI and checking their work, etc.

This is pretty frustrating. You have my sympathies.

I am surprised you had much faith in them to begin with. And all it took was one bad captcha for you to leave them in the ditch?

@D34DL1N3R I would definitely rather be locked out of my account as that is so unlikely to happen, I have a few passwords that I reuse and I just try all of them if the first one doesn't work, and that has never gotten me locked out. Plus trying every password is STILL faster than having to solve a single captcha these days.

@The Real Jdbye
It's not about the captcha, it's about the customer relations management. I wasn't alone, people complained about this on social media, but epic never responded their complaints. When I wanted to complain about this through their website, I also needed to solve a captcha. WTF? It's as if they put a barrier for you deliberately for exercising your consumers right. I spent about 20 dollars on epic, and I will not spend anymore penny.

@D34DL1N3R
I would rather locked up from my account for a while instead of being served with a captcha that cannot be finished. That rotating captcha is easy, but this maze and voice captcha cannot be solved. They are bugged!! The worse part, you cannot even complain, and they are being silent on social media. That's a sign of poor customer service.

No kidding. Why didnt you just get a new captcha to solve? I don't care what anyone else says, this is still on yourself. Not Epic. And you'd rather be locked out of your account. I don't believe you for one second. At all. You're just saying that because it matches your agenda for the post. Admitting to your mistakes at this point would just make yourself look bad, and why would you do that? And you have the same few passwords for every site and you just guess one of three every time? That was pretty much the end of this conversation for me. Best of luck, lmfao.

@osaka35 "Some may not have much security and therefore jump to conclusions it's your fault." You mean like the person who used the same few passwords for every site? lol. It's THEIR fault. Period. End of story. There is nothing to discuss. Too bad they had to enter a captcha they couldn't solve because they entered the password incorrectly.... SEVERAL TIMES OVER. Boo hoo.
