First-time filmmaker Bing Liu’s documentary Minding the Gap is a coming-of-age saga of three skateboarding friends in their Rust Belt hometown. While navigating a complex relationship between his camera and his friends, Bing explores the gap between fathers and sons, between discipline and domestic abuse and ultimately that precarious chasm between childhood and becoming an adult. Minding the Gap has its national broadcast and streaming debut on the PBS documentary series POV and pbs.org/pov on Monday, February 18, at 9/8c.

I write some interesting blogs you won't see beaten to death (unless I choose to parody), but this oddity of a piece is for the growth of your mind and the truths you may come to eventually face.

You might have faced this last week, maybe not. You might never face this if you're a lame piece of shit and that's okay, too.

This won't save your soul. This won't save your parents marriage. This won't get you into college.

This is a magic mirror. This mirror will show you more than your reflection today, right now.

The video I linked is a trailer to a documentary about three kids who lived and grew up in Illinois. They all came from different backgrounds. They all had their own problems.

They are you and I. They are your: brothers, fathers, classmates, neighbors; those motherfuckers down the road.

While I watched it, I definitely felt reminded of my youth. While I can't say it's a 1-to-1 copy, I was able to relate to a lot of what was filmed.

Throughout the (roughly) 90-minute documentary, I felt like I was reliving my teenage years. Then, I felt like I was reliving my twenties. And by the end of it, I felt like I should be video-calling these guys--"Hey man, I just saw you on TV!"--it was that true to the life of a teen in America during the 2000's.

If you do take it upon yourself to watch this all the way through, I believe you'll become a better person.

Why?

I believe you'll realize everyone has some kind of pain; no one is immune. I believe you'll be exposing yourself to something so unprocessed, you might have trouble looking at Kraft cheese.

I also believe if your life is like any of their lives, you can use this Oscar-nominated (for Best Documentary) magic mirror to see your life unapologetically unfolded, year by year.

Better yourself.

Finally got an appointment with an ENT, but it's not for another month. It's already been 4- days of loud ringing in my left ear, substantial pain on left side of my neck and left side on the back of my head. Doctors here at the regular clinic put me on a couple different meds for a month that did absolutely nothing, then they told me there's nothing more they can do for me despite being in pain and my ear sounding like im underwater and ringing.
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Then three chiropractor appointments which also didn't help at all so i didn't go to the 4th. Been trying to get ahold of this ENT clinic out of town for a week and finally got an appointment set up. But its not til the 17th of July so I have to suffer all this shit for nearly another month.
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
I hope relief from all of this is on the way because I've felt so defeated and severaly lacking in sleep because of the pain and ringing.
