I say that yet there were elections going on in Lisbon about Bolsonaro and a lot of people voted for him. Why? I got no fucking idea, some of us are completely brain dead.

as a brazilian i will summarize for you guys

here in Brazil we have basically 2 political extremes, for 14 years the socialist ruled our country, in a "wrong way", as result, last eart and early 18´s some of them got jailed, Lula (the headchef) included as well
Bolsonaro saw a great opportunity "fight" against them, BUT IN A F*** WRONG WAY. He is totally unprepared for rule a country and DECLARED misoginist, racist and homophobic. BUT since the socialist fucked so bad, people seems to see a little of hope in Bolsonaro and become blind to his acts.

so.... we have to choose between a crazy guy and a guy "controled" by a PRISIONER

our country is so fucked.....

as a brazilian i will summarize for you guys

many people have tried to unshackle our country from the communist and communist-lite oligopoly that controls all branches of governance and media. In the 60's our army constitutionally rose to power to prevent an immediate communist dictatorial threat, but they ended up very unpopular and the left wingers have controlled all media, music, culture, everything even in that time. Our universities are leftist brainwashing centers. One patriot named Enéas Carneiro had been the most popular attempt at this, creating a party, attracting millions of active followers and electing congressmen, but because the TV was the most influential thing and he only had few seconds on it, his best result was 7% of votes. Bolsonaro follows his footsteps, but is far less prepared and articulated, though he did rise to power thanks to the good citizens who used their time to evaluate his propositions mostly mostly in the internet, and shared to their peers. Patriotis and good citizens all around are very hopeful, but it's only the beginning.

Well... I am not sure how good/bad the military dictatorship in your country was. But as for the one in my country that lies just south of yours, it was bad.
They even dropped people alive from planes into the sea, nice guys there.
But they didn't only dropped the terrorists, they also dropped academics and people that had different thoughts.
Yeah, they were brutal assholes, almost as bad as the terrorists they were fighting (call them communists if you wish, I prefer the more accurate term terrorist).
Neither of those should have come back to power ever.

Unfortunately the terrorists were in power for more than a decade recently.

Our military "dictatorship" was a great time of absolute respect to human rights. All people who may or not have been killed by authorities in those 21 years, in the worst estimates, total less than 2 to 3 weeks of the current murder rate difference (current minus "dictatorship" average). We've been dragged to hell afterwards.

@VinsCool Was it suspicious because you couldn't believe the President of the US could be that dumb? Well, that tweet is totally tame by his standards lol and sadly not at all suspicious. His tweets get much wilder on a daily basis.

@Yepi69 News dessimination in Brasil is worse than in the US. Most people get their news from Facebook and WhatsApp groups (from all the places). So it's even easier to create false claims and manipulate public opinion. To add that up Bolsonaro had the support of religious figures, mainly protestant preachers. This is what made many people who were moderate socialists suddently be ultra capitalist "alt-right" extremists. It became a culture of fear and Bolsonaro a way of saving Brasil from crime (that actually, although very slowly is been slowing down), the "gay agenda", state / religion division (although it is already separated) and economic decay (although the economy is not decaying, on the contrary is one of the few modern countries in the world where GDP is greater than debt, the problem is that money is very poorly distributed - Bolsonaro may well actually improve the economy but at the cost of even further divisions in distribution and the environment, since he supports Amazon farmers and claimed he want to further explore the florestated area).

people are stupid enough to believe in any whatsapp shit they recieve instead search by themselves

@BludFox_gui It's not only Brasil, but Brasil has a huge educacional problem - specially considering most people live in poverty - and has a result most people don't have the critical thinking guidance for them to sort out trustworthy news sources and channels from crap.

And to add up, Facebook (the company) doesn't really care for what impact it's lack of moderation on fake information has, as it didn't in the US. Move fast and break things, including democracies.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
