My dreams are all crushed again...

I have alway wanted an electric guitar. It would be AWESOME. So, I looked into which guitar I wanted to get. I settled on the Epiphone Les Paul SL. It is cheap and halfway decent. It's only about $120. I also wanted to get a VERY small amp... so I wanted to get the VOX Amplug2 AC30.

I was going to shovel snow for people when it snows to get money... but my grandparents say that I can't save for a guitar... I have to save for a car.

Why not build an electric guitar?

Also if you are 15 and can drive in a little while it would make sense to save for a car if you are somewhere where a car makes sense.

Well.... I technically have a car. It is a 1983 Buick Skylark Custom 2 Door... but the specialized breaking system is hard to work on and the break lines are broken. It would cost a few thousand dollars to fix it.

I think if you made the money yourself by working for it, you should be free to spend it however you want. $120 isn't anywhere near enough to buy you a decent car anyways.

It's gonna be great for you to get out of that place eventually man.

Yeah. I am going to get an electric guitar. I will do it. I am going to be selling my DS Lite and all the games that I managed to hide from my grandparents.

But where will you hide the guitar afterwards?
Where will you play it?
Playing a guitar is little more difficult to hide than playing a DS Lite.

Yeah... I am not sure. I might just go to my counselor and talk to them and see what they think I should do.

Can you already play the guitar or have you tried with a friend's guitar/a school's guitar and found it really for you?

Also from what you said it sounds like your grandparents are... rather traditional shall we say. Would they be more amenable to an acoustic guitar? Bonus is a lot of people have those in their attic and will happily sell you them for not a lot. You can still learn and play just fine on one of those.

I have an acoustic guitar... so yes I know how to play. It's just that... they took it away back when I got in trouble.... wait.... I didn't write a blog entry about that?!?! Be right back.

@PandaPandel, OG 3DS is -not- fun to put back together, and that's coming from someone who at the time was pretty familiar with reassembling DS Lites. Total pain in the ass, and screws of varying length that'll poke through the face surface of the bottom half of the shell if you put the wrong screw in the wrong spot. Totally not talking from experience there, nope
