Why did you bought your switch?

Was it because of a game? Or the current state of Homebrew/ "Hacking"/ Piracy?
For me its mainly because of Octopath Traveler and the current Development of CFW and Piracy.

Im really exited for Octopath, it looks very nice. With the combination of a nice CFW and a EmuNand for "perfect" safety, i hope for more games that will interest me in the future.

I bought it on launch day to play Breath of the Wild. I figured even if it flopped like the WiiU I could at least be happy with my purchase because of that one game alone (and I basically was). Glad it's actually getting games instead tho.

Piracy always interests me, but being banned doesn't. So I don't plan on modding my switch until things flesh out a bit.

Got it at launch, wanted to play Zelda portably and was excited to see what Nintendo could do with a more powerful handheld. Not been disappointed thus far.

Bought it (Oct 2017) for inevitable animal crossing and fire emblem. Nothing yet on the Switch has wowed me.

Got mine a week after launch for Zelda. It´s resting in the box.

Bought mine at launch due to breath of the wild and the promise of a new mario game, fire emblem warriors, and splatoon 2. I'm really loving it so far, and I can't wait to see what Nintendo has cooking for the switch in 2019.

Bought it for the new Zelda, and thought Splatoon 1 would be ported with more content... Boy, did I ever have that reversed!!! Instead, we got Splatoon 2 with all the Splatoon 1 content.

Then I accidentally won a Switch here on GBATemp. *Oops*

Bought in November 2017 for Odyssey, got BotW and Sonic Mania for christmas and now I have a variety of stuff on it. No interest in homebrew/hacking. Too risky, I like playing online and have many digital games.

I bought my Switch in December 2017, because I had the money for it.
I haven't used it that much though. Had a blast playing Mario Odyssey. That's pretty much it.

So I can play exclusive games like Super Mario Odyssey, Kirby Star Allies, etc on the go.

Pre-ordered the second I could. A sleek portable/hybrid more powerful than the cumbersome Wii U sold it for me immediately. The Nvidia partnership helped too because I really like/liked my Shield TV for specific things.

Definitely don't regret it, Switch has the best/fastest OS of all three current gen consoles, and its library has grown considerably. Octopath Traveler HYPE y'all.

@Noctosphere nope, I wanted the neon console, so it was the console and the game bought separately.

Got mine August 2017, to play most new games on the go and to eventually hack at some point.

I bought it for Cave Story.

And it was a worthy investment because pokken is great too

@Taffy you can get Cave Story on nearly any DS, 3DS, Wii, Wii U, PC, etc... So why would you get a Switch just for Cave Story??
