Autism is a real disorder!

I don't have diagnosed however when I read about this it fit to me so well, that's strange. I guess this label means nothing. It doesn't matter how people name you, if they insult you just to make you upset they're just... more autistic.

By using "autistic" as an insult means logically that you consider the attribute "autistic" to be a negative attribute, that is used to say to the other "you suck", more precisely in the case it's used, "you're a dumbass". It implies "autistic=dumbass", exactly like some assholes throw sexits insults like "you cry like a girl" or whatever dumb shit like that. Of course, the n-word is charged with history and therefore does have something even worse associated with it. Plus, it's hard to do comparisions as in the 2010s, you don't throw a "black" as an insult or something like that. However, things like that could've been the case at a time where discrimination was largely the case, like in the 19th and even the beginning of the 20th century where black people from colonies were exposed in zoos (!) and pseudoscience was saying that they were inferior humans. But in 2017 you should not use an adjective that designs a group of people as an insult.

Ok... This might be the dumbest question known to man kind... So autistic people have a hard time communicating right? Does that also apply to the internet? (like on gbatemp)

Actually, not fully. Communication in society involves a lot things like facial expressions, voice intonations, body language, emotions etc, and when on the Internet all you have is text, dumb gifs and cancer emojis. Myself I've been to socialize much more easily on the Internet thatn IRL.

i know exactly where your coming from with this its incredibly annoying but the best thing you can do is just not let it bother you i too am autistic and was bullied althrought my childhood because of it and still continue to today as an adult but when that kinda shit happens to you on a daily basis you learn to not let it bother you at all

You wanna hear me confess, fine, I have Asperger's, I have a driver's license, I learned Japanese and lived there, and I can animate 3D stuff. There, I just hope no one thinks differently of me XD

Please, DON'T stop using autism as an offense.
It's just another word, it's ok for you to say it. We know it, autists can sometimes have really odd behavior and it doesn't offend autists that are not in a serious condition at all.

I'm autistic, and I really don't want to be grouped together with a bunch of pussies. Thank you.

btw: I have aspergers, anxiety and depression.
Getting worked up because of what other people say, isn't going to help my condition at all. It doesn't matter what you have, nothing is an excuse to pussy out and conform to your weaknesses.

I understand how you feel. I hate how people use "deaf-mute" and "deaf and dumb" as a darn insult. I'm deaf myself but I really am intelligent too. It annoys me. By the way, "hearing impaired" is an outdated way to collectively label people with any level of hearing loss. It does not account for cultural identity. The use of "hearing impaired" may be considered less blunt by many hearing people, but within the Deaf community, it is an insulting term and a sign of ignorance. No no and no!:creep:

Anyway, I have hearing friends around me and not look at deaf as difference at all. :tpi::hrth::rofl2:
