Autism is a real disorder!

Argentina is an island drifting aimlessly around Antarctica, at least they say so, some say it is a legend, nobody seems to have seen it in a long time, perhaps it sunk like Atlantis?

It seems to be a pitfall in particular for high-functioning autistic people in that they have a difficult time trying to distinguish the insult for what it is and it being an attack on them, which ironically is likely a result of their autism. I'm not justifying the use of "autism" or "autistic" as an insult, since it is an objectively terrible thing to say. Then again, there are terrible people who seek to hurt others in the world.

Best advice is just to ignore those who throw it around. It's their loss for being ignorant.

Too bad, I ate them all, next round on me, I promise :) @BlueFox gui

Anyway let's back to the topic, many keyboard warriors feel safe and powered bacause they are hiding behind a monitor, if they dare insult someone else in real life, I'm sure they will get a punch to the teeth... An insult like "u r autistic" hurts many real autistic people, because of their low self-esteem, you should work on it instead blame the community, people will never change because of your blog. the only way to stop garbage person to hurt you is stop being offended if they call you "autistic".

I've worked on being socially awkward and I can tell if someone is being sarcastic. So I've worked on all sorts of stuff.

Im glad you're improving.

My only problem with mental disorders is that if someone that says they have them attacks you, you can't attack back because if you do you're ableist.

There was this paralytic kid in my school, and he groped a bunch of girls. When one of them reported the abuse, she got in trouble for discrimination.

One day another girl defended herself and attacked the retard (not using it as an insult, he literally was retarded) and she was almost expelled.

the right to self respect and self defense is more important than fitting in the PC narrative, even if you are expelled as a result. IMHO.

I have Autism and I don't feel like it's fair tbh. I hate that shit. Like I always say fuck the police they're just fat asses.

tbh, the only time I've had issue with people calling me something that isn't actually an insult but is being used as an insult is back in elementry school when people kept calling me gay, I made sure to stop that at the head asap as I didn't want people thinking I actually was gay and end up with some dude hiting on me, ya, I'm fine thank you very much, not that I think being gay is bad but still

Autism is as much an insult as blindness. Yet people will still keep calling somebody "are you blind?" if they fail to see something obvious (even though they are not blind).

That makes me think, why would people call somebody "autist" even when he is not? Calling upon the example before perhaps they are frustrated they don't communicate as effectively as expected in an everyday situation? No idea.

(or perhaps they are just assholes)
