I'm doing a retro month. It will last till September 24. Why I'm posting this? I want retro games suggestion.

If you're interested in other retro systems I can definitely vouch for the Commodore Amiga series of computers back from late 80s to early 90s. Though they were not very popular outside Europe...

A few great games that I know are:
-Lotus 2 and 3
-North and South
-Another World
-Pinball Fantasies/Dreams
-Turrican (all)
-Super Cars 2
-R-Type
-Alien Breed
-Gods
-Speedball 2
-Flashback
-International Karate +

I could go on and on with this list... Granted that quite a few (if not all) of these ended up being ported over to DOS and some even to SNES and Mega Drive, so you can also take a look for those systems.

"But you're a kid, you know shit about them!"
Heard that way too much.
I grew up with old consoles, up until 2011 I didn't know the 7th generation existed.

It sucks to say I have nostalgia and that Super Mario World was my first game to have some dumbass say "BUT UR YOUNG, POSER"

Chrono Trigger and Advance Wars... but not DK64 because it's too long? :wtf:
Haha, well, I always recommend ActRaiser on SNES. The US version is easier than the EU one, so for time reasons, I recommend it. I Beat it in about 3 hours on stream (without save states or fast forwarding, max leveled).

Mystical Ninja for the N64 is amazing, and I really like the first one on SNES as well.

When it comes to adventure games on DOS / PC, my personal favorite is Sam n Max: Hit the road. Excellent humor and no game over screen, you will never mess up so you have to load an old save and retry something.

nice decision !
I took the decision to play only one game at a time, and don't start another one until I complete it, because I had habit to start many and complete none.
I'm now completing games, but also choosing better which game I'll play next. I have a lot of backlog to pick from.

Doing this is fun, but one month is so short. you won't play a lot of game, not even sure you'll complete any

if you want suggestion, and you don't know point and click but want to try :
DOS/Amiga : Monkey Island 1 (not the remake), indiana jones fate of atlantis, Simon the sorcerer, Day of the Tentacle (there's a PS4 port), Lost in time, Phantasmagoria (more movie-like than other point and click, it exists on other system than DOS), Myst
NES: Maniac mansion
PS1: Disc world (VERY hard)

not point&click now:
DOS/Amiga : Lemmings, Genesia, Syndicate (again, not the remake), Dune, Dune2, Little big adventure, sim city, theme park.
There are a lot of Amiga game worth playing, like GearCross said, and he listed all the good ones. I would add Agony for another shootem'up.
NES: battle of olympus (metroidvania), Zelda 1 and 2, Gauntlet (dungeon), Bubble bobble (arcade), boulder dash (arcade), Double dragon (fight), TMNT (plateformer), Duck tales, Chip&dale, shadow warrior (hard!), Faxanadu (metroidvania), Castlevania2 (metroidvania), Mega man, Shadow gate (first person puzzle dungeon exploration), .. ahhh, looks like NES has too many good game I played. you should really try a lot of them.
Snes: Terranigma, You could check my completed game list in my signature for more Snes games.
PS1: Legacy of Kain and Soul reaver series (one of the first 3D open world game, if not the first on PS1), parasite eve. (and too many to list them)

You are engaging yourself in a long path if you want to play oldies ;)
Good choice, and Good luck !
I really hope you'll find new game you didn't know about and you'll enjoy playing them as much (if not more) than newer ones.

Please, let us know your result in 1 month.
I would be happy to see which game you liked, which you didn't know and are happy to have played now, etc.

@jupitteer
......Genesis, CD, Saturn, Game Gear are all good consoles. You should play the full library of games before you judge. Saturn had some really good games.

sega has few worth playing games too:
Phantasy star (Master system), Ys, Sonic, Golden axe, Landstalker, legend of thor, Alex kid, Nights into deams (saturn), Albert odyssey, saturn had a lot of rpgs too.
I didn't play a lot of sega game (I was a nintendo guy, so I hated sega! that was the console war 30 years ago ahaha), so I don't know all I missed. Maybe one day I'll play old Sega library.

the idea is to play the original game, not the remake.

I have the full libraries of most SEGA consoles. You should try harder. Clearly, you never played Albert Odyssey.

Sounds like scheduling an appt with the ENT was the best decision. I have many of those symptions. The pain in neck and back of head, ringing in the ear, being very tired all the time, dizzyness, etc.

@SylverReZ Significant pain in my neck, shoulder, and back of my head. Loud ringing in my ear and sounds like I have an ear plug in. Excessive tiredness. Slightly blurred vision.
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Been going on for 40 days. Regular doctors and chiropractor did not help. ENT appointment isn't for another 27 days. I hope I live that long.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
That really sounds like the nerve in your neck
  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Everything leads to vegas nerve compression. which in looking into it, can cause very bad health issues and can absolutely be fatal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@RedColoredStars, That sucks. My mum had a very bad neck and she's been to many drs to see what the problem is, and none of them noticed anything (except for one). They found that her discs is squeezing between her esophagus.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Try a hot wet towel (almost burning hot) on your upper neck almost the base of your skull. Might provide temporary relief
