Need Gamma help?

Anyone who is having trouble setting up the Gamma loader or understanding the instructions just give me a PM and I will try to assist people on a 1 on 1 basis.

I am by no means an expert but I have spent hours sorting through these threads already and I think I have a decent understanding of what needs to be done. This is by no means a promise that I will get it to work, nor will I take any responsibility for anything happening to your Wii. As always you do this at your own risk.

I have just gotten it installed a couple times already and rather than posting new threads or pestering the Gamma creators I would be happy to help.

*EDIT*
I have compiled a couple different tutorials into one package and written a guide. If anyone who notices it misses any credits or anything please let me know.
None of the files were written by myself, only collected from a number of different sources and offered in one package.

This can help people who need to:
+Downgrade or Upgrade their Firmware Version (including 3.4)
+Install the Gamma Channel
+Install Homebrew Channel on any Firmware version (Including 3.4)

Anyone who uses my guide and has any questions feel free to post your questions to me below. Anyone else is welcome to pitch in but this thread is mainly for people who want me to help them one on one.

Do you not think this thread would better off in a Wii subforum and not as a blog?

If I thought that I suppose I wouldnt have posted it as a blog. I guess I figured we didnt need a 1000th Gamma thread there. If I offended your sensabilities some how I am sorry, just trying to be helpful :)

Quick question here. Gamma comes with a new cIOS. I have an older cIOS installed (off the top of my head, i don't know which it is). Can i just install the new cIOS w/out removing the older one? Or should i remove that? Or can they both coexist there w/out any major problems?

(i'm decent for a lot of the newer wii hacking thats been coming out, i just don't understand cIOS installation entirely. I mean, i know how to do it, i just don't know if there are multiple cIOSes installed, or if one over-writes the old, or how it all goes down.)

Thanks :)

I may have to take you up on your offer of help in the future, a mate of mine has just bought a Wii. I'm gonna attempt to do it myself but if I get stuck I'll definitely be knocking on your inbox if you don't mind.

Hey guys, I installed the Gamma Backuploader properly. So I burned the disc with nero burning ROM at lowest speed (x6) and popped the game in. I went into the Gamma Loader channel. and clicked start. First I tried a custom GH3 disc, and the activision screen came up then it said disc could not be read. I tried burning it again and then I didn't get anything, just a black screen. I tried other games (Mario Kart, etc) and they all just give me a black screen now.

If you guys have anything that can help me out, please tell!

Thanks

Followed your guide, everything worked perfectly. I'm running on 3.2U, haven't updated in ages! So it was a bit easier for me to get it working

Testing with Star Wars Force Unleashed: My first burn was with a Memorex DVD+R, write speed set to max. My laptop only has a 2x dvd writer. That didn't work. Second try used a Sony DVD-R, made sure the book type setting was properly set in ImgBurn, and used 1x write speed. After a few seconds the game loaded - Success!

I'm going to try again with the memorex DVD+R at 1x and see what happens.

Thanks for the guide!

When I click the Homebrew channel and click start it says loading Sd, then there's a message that says An update to the Homebrew Channel (version 1.0.1 replacing the installed version beta 9) is available for installation. Do you want to update now. Scam Warning. What do I do? Do I click Yes or No

Hey when I click on "A" IOS16 to install it, nothing happens..
it simply remains on the screen. Should I try installing version IOS38 ?

This guide (or whatever it is) is outdated ;)

If EOC or a mod sees this, can this topic be closed? Thx

@K3Nv2 I got some cheapies at wallys, that are pretty good, already have lost a few expensive ones (one falls out and gone, can't find) while cutting grass so bought some cheap ones, and of course never lose these cheap ones. (Cheap meaning only $35, compared to air buds which I only have 1 of 2 now)
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
They need to add air tags to they airbuds..

@BigOnYa the airtags are bigger than the airpods, they won't fit
