Returned a Hacked 3ds to a used game store.

I am not sure where this would belong in the forum sections. Mods/Admin please move if it does not belong here I apologize if it doesn't.

So I bought a 3ds at my local game store they are small and pretty nice. I took it home and then hacked it with a9lh and luma. Put some games I owned on the SD card. I realized after I installed the games the buttons where sticky and just eww and the shoulder buttons too. So I was like fuck it I removed my sd card and put the sd card that came with it in and luma is still installed. They gave me a replacement 2ds with a game for free because it was nasty and sticky. I like the store and I feel kinda bad should I? I Just hacked the 2ds as well. Hopefully no one notices.

Well all in all I think nobody will notice >:D

I don't own a computer fam. I use a friends and he was at work. By the time I was off work he wasn't home and I had to get it back there because I was going to be busy the rest of the week. Anyways its on the latest firmware and I put luma in like a quiet mode per say only way someone would know is if they pressed select however most kids dont update their systems anyways. Most adults hack their systems so its out of my hands now.

They will update their systems sooner or later when some game requires it or they connect to the internet and it asks for an update.
@RedBlueGreen @linuxares Recovery mode doesn't brick anymore, it hasn't in ages. But if a update comes out that requires a Luma update and whoever buys that 3DS updates it not knowing that it's hacked, they probably will just assume that it's broken and not be able to fix it.

I slightly feel bad about that but the 3ds was kinda trashed anyways. Its at a used game store they sell for like 40-50 and like 100$ for a new3ds I buy tons of 3ds's from there and resell them hacked every so often I pop a 32 or 64 gig micro sd upon the persons request for like an extra 10$ I buy them wholesale from china for 6 - 7 bucks a piece.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
