The thing that is happening to UK and Turkey and many other countrys now is pretty much the same as what happened to Germany many years ago, it is like many of the other countrys actually try to make the same mistake we did long ago.

And somehow many people just don't get it.
For me History class was allways annyoing and I didn't really feel the need to know what happened long time ago but somehow I guess many people should be remembered -.-V

Even though the UK only left the EU yet it is still one step in the wrong direction into isolation and racism.

I guess most people who say its great are either stupid or just say as their stupid parents say instead of thinking for themselfes.

Again why is everybody talking about Europe like it only contains France and Germany. It doesn't stop saying shit like that when the union should be viewed as a whole. Netherlands, Italy, Belgium are equally as important and in a lot pf ways even more important so stop spouting nonsense like the European union only contains Germany and France just because Merkel and Marie has been in the news a lot.

Being in Europe has upsides and downsides.
Not being in Europe has upsides and downsides.

In the end it's all about preference.
And UK is going to feel that when it comes to making requests from EU, they'll just get denied for the most part because "lol you wanted to leave so badly but you want all the good things coming from EU, but not the bad".

I do have to say though, I had a nice giggle when that guy, Farage? whatever his name was, got this ball rolling, got what he wanted and then was like "lol, peace out".
I get that his sole purpose was to initiate this entire thing, but to be honest it's kinda weak to not see the whole thing through. Unless i'm missing some information on that.

I personally prefer being in the EU, but that's due to my personal situation. If I wasn't in that situation, i'd probably lean more towards leaving because of bigwigs in Brussel basically dictating EU countries too much.
Problem is that most of the Dutch keep making sure the same idiot gets re-elected, meaning we're stuck with a talk and no action cabinet forever.
But that's what we Dutch are good at; complaining but not taking any action.
and that's one of the reasons i'm considering leaving this country in the long run

The EU was a damn ruse and I don't understand why people can't see that. It's a fly trap for smaller countries to get their wealth absorbed from corporations in Germany and France. I'm not implying that those smaller countries shouldn' be held accountable for irresponsibility in some cases, but the EU is a big chess board for crony capitalists to make their moves on less economically developed peoples. Call me populist loving, call me progress hating, I don't give a damn, I'm a centrist. The EU vultures must pay for their arbitrary ways. I have seen how all this has ruined the European south and I think it's time it ended here.

@I_AM_L_FORCE There's been a question that's been intriguing me about the whole trade deal thing. What makes you think that the none EU countries will want to give you good trade agreements?
Take the USA as an example, do you really think they will negotiate a good trade agreement with the UK. It's of no consequence if they can make a trade agreement with the UK or not so they'll push for it to be as favorable for them as can be. And what the UK wants will be secondary or totally ignored.

@reiten, we would partition labor to the UK for our manufacturing and pay British workers meager salaries because they would have no choice but to accept any deal they can take for their failing economy

You know many people in the UK that Voted to leave the EU will actually suffer a lot ... like Cornwall there was a very high number of people who wanted to leave as they were told that they only pay money to europe but if you see how much money europe give them in return you would see that it was very stupid to leave.


Of course everyone pays money but usually most of it is distributed to places that need it (and that is rarely Germany of France -.-V)

@Youkai Are you sure you didn't take EU's bait for a better economic future? Yes, I am not saying that the UK might get out unharmed but it will keep prospering, like it always had. The EU makes countries their wage slaves. What's better, leaving a "union" that absorbs your funds with some backlash or being a slave to powers economically greater than you are for eternity? I would choose the first one.

Europe isn't France and Germany, the EU is.

Kinda funny that everybody talks about France and germany when Belgium, netherlands, sweden, iceland, austria and luxembourg is a hell lot richer

@kumikochan Yes, but these other countries are way less populated and less influential.

Ofcourse that's why belgium is the densest country in the world again the EU is a whole and shouldn't be judged by some countries according to size. Also less infuential ? Belgium, netherlands and luxembourg started the EU. Brussels is the capital and Belgium made the Euro

@WeedZ That doesn't really answer my question. It only proves that the average US citizen agrees that a trade agreement should prioritize the interests of the USA and that the Uk can be ignored

@reiten I was agreeing with you, in all likelihood the US would come out ahead or there would be no deal.

I think the above should be obvious...even with Donald Trump...a trade deal with the U.S will benefit the U.S. because simply the U.K. isn't Israel.

@WeedZ I know you're agreeing with me. The main question that interests me is, why the UK citizens believe that other countries will want to negotiate trade agreements that are good for the UK. Seriously hope the answer isn't because politician A or politician B promised us it would be so.

On the side, I recall recently seeing a interview with one of the main Brexit speakers, where he said that if the Brexit didn't go well his company would leave the UK.

Well ok we can argue that some countries will want to keep the trade agreements as they are, but that wouldn't really improve the situation.
