the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":

@CrispyYoshi do you have any specific files I should be trying? "try various" doesn't help.

@4ur0r try various entrypoints and .3dsx builds. You'll know you're in if you can get into sysupdater. From there, put your updates in sdmc:/updates/<cia files>.cia and start testing. make sure your firmware version matches your 3ds model and region! also some builds can crash a lot so keep trying/experimenting

@ihaveamac try the shiny pre-release build through menuhax. i think you don't need to run the FTP app but you'll know you're in if you can get into sysupdater

Was able to get into sysupdater, US N3DS 10.3 using menuhax. Used the force-exit FTP-3DS method, I might try legit cias but I'm not going to downgrade just yet.

Hm... seems like the browserhax for rxtools doesn't work on o3ds 9.2...

Works with Shufflehax, but not with Ninjhax.

I get DEADCAFE 1 of each 5 times, but my 3ds is stuck on Press Start with the bottom screen on black. If I try the downgrade (when it comes out "officially") Could I make it?

@Misledz ah shit, that's exactly what I'm doing on my JN3DS. 9.0 and 9.2 downgrading has been bricking me since the start of this thread, but i think albinodrought wants to tweak the code a bit more tomorrow, so i'll likely be doing more testing then.

@V3NUS_M1NER yes, go to the ISO site and look for the thread: [MEGA] [CIA/BIN] MSET 4.X & 6.X backups, Browser backups, Update packs (All Regions)

Download the proper region version for the proper 3ds model, then put the .cia files in sdmc:/updates/<cia files>.cia

After that you just run the (not yet stable) .3dsx in your favorite entrypoint and select downgrade (if you can manage to get into the sysupdater menu)
