The Wii U is a gaming wet dream.

Just got a Wii U for my birthday! Cheezus Cheddar Cracker Christ, this console is fucking ORGASMIC.

For the life of me, I just can't understand why people hate on the Wii U so much. It's a freaking Nintendo Dreamcast HD! The gamepad is great, with the screen and the controller at just the right size. I actually love how it feels in my hands. I also have to compliment the speakers on the Gamepad, very sharp.

Smash is amazing, Bayonetta 1&2 are fucking MARVELOUS, Super Mario 3D World is out of this universe.

I'm having a total gamer-gasm with this thing.

Oh, yeah. I'll go post my Nintendo Network ID over in the appropriate thread. Might as well drop my 3DS FC while I'm at it.

Yeah i've owned one since January 2013 and even though it had quite a large drought of games, I never stopped playing it. Bayonetta 2 is by far one of the best games i've ever played and don't even get me started on the amount of time i've played Mario Kart 8! Extremely pumped for smash when it comes out next week in Australia but nothing can top my need for Xenoblade X. That game looks god damn fantastic.

Good to hear. My boys are getting one for Christmas and have been begging the past two years. Despite having. 500GB HD full of Wii games their interest in it has cratered in the past 1 1/2 years.

Planing on getting a 46-48" TV for it as well unless I can get ahold of a 55" on a good sale.

Will include all the standard Mario titles, any other suggestions for 9 & 12 year old boys? Bayonetta sounds like it may be a bit to mature for them. Entering that crossover age where I am willing to give them a bit more freedom, but killing hookers and tea bagging is a bit past my comfort level. :)

People hate the Wii U because it's just another Nintendo console. It isn't as if the Wii U is some exception to the general trend of Nintendo console sales from the past couple of decades either. The Wii was the outlier. The Gamecube and N64 were "normal", and you'll notice both of them sold miserably, with the Gamecube just barely, barely selling enough consoles to turn a profit. Odds are much higher that the Wii U will end up being another Gamecube.

It just comes down to the lack of third parties. As has been said a million times, if you like Nintendo games, Nintendo systems will work great for you. If you like third party titles, Nintendo consoles will be overwhelmingly disappointing, as third parties barely release anything for Nintendo systems, and of that barely anything, almost none of it is actually worth buying. Nintendo is actually definitive proof that, unless you get lucky and tap what was previously an untapped pool of people, you will have a hard time being successful in the gaming industry without the backing of third parties.

With that said, congrats on buying a console that you enjoy. As long as you feel you're getting enough enjoyment for what you paid, then you did well.

Smash and 3D World will be where it's at. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and Hyrule Warriors would also work, not to mention New Super Mario Bros U and New Super Luigi U.

Basically anything first party is really, really good and probably just right for your kids' age range. (I know Hyrule Warriors isn't first party.)

Name ONE bad game on Wii u.
"Better" doesn't imply that the initial product is bad, just that it could be improved upon.

Y'all get so up in arms every time one person says Wii U games aren't that great. Be calm. For plenty of people, Nintendo standard first party games just don't do the trick, and yes, those people are still free to voice their opinion.

The Wii U is pretty good for the exclusives it has and a few multiplatforms that make use of the GamePad but other than that the GamePad's just one big useless controller with a screen that has hardly any use.

It'd really be for the best if Nintendo ditched the GamePad for the Wii U but it's too late now.

The hundreds that exist aren't enough for you?
There's a lot but that's not necessarily a sign of quality but quantity over quality.

One could say that there's like 40 decent Wii U games and that's true but once you've finished them all you're stuck with mediocre exclusives (Hyrule Warriors, Sonic Boom, ZombiU) and multiplatforms.

Non existent 3rd party support
and the ones that do come out are delayed for months on end and eventually release as downports from other consoles, or as wiiu owners like to call them: "definitive versions"

There's one multiplatform that's the "definitive edition" on the Wii U oh wait it actually isn't.. The GamePad fucked it up.

Rayman Legends, but I am sure that you will argue with your own opinion.

360, PS3, PS4, PC and XO all were given a superior release because you know, they actually allowed to completely control those areas and the bug whereas on the Wii U you had to use the GamePad's motion controls and tap the screen for the fucking character to go and if you wanted to go somewhere else you'd need to die or retry in order to get there.

The 8bit stages are absolutely horrible on the Wii U version, too.

I never said WiiU games sucked, it's just that they could be better. So far none of the games are pushing the WiiU to it's limit, sure some games look graphically amazing, but that's all. The WiiU has so much potential and Nintendo is afraid to use it, there's so much that they can do but they won't (for one reason or another).

We had our grandkids over yesterday and I got a small above ground swimming pool I filled for them to play in. Well today I woke to find 3 ducks swimming around in it. Don't mind really but they are annoyingly loud, quack quack. Gotta drain it today. Guess what were having for dinner, lol.

plus if you're making brownies or lava cakes for people with dairy allergies, you should use oil instead of butter anyway

I make rum cake for 4th July every year, I make it a week prior and then soak it in rum in the fridge all week. I flip the cake each day, and add little more rum, it soaks it up everyday, so good.

Me and wifey was deciding on our next vacation, so I hung up a map on the wall, and give her a dart and said, wherever you hit, we will go. She threw the dart and it missed the map completely and fell into a trash can below on floor. So I said "ok Florida it is."
