Multiplayer dilemma...

Ok so I am a huge Gears of War fan. I am really good at Gears of War 3 and this has been my multiplayer game of choice since it has launched back in September. Today I was playing and while I was doing good, I wasn't enjoying myself. I was soooo bored after 2 matches. I have tried getting myself into PC multiplayer, but it isn't for me. TF2 is fun, but I suck at Keyboard and Mouse and prefer nice solid single player games on the PC (have a bunch of hours on GTA IV!). Right now I am playing Black Ops on my 360 and it feels alright, but I need a new game to get hooked onto. Perhaps Halo? What do you guys suggest?

RDR is pretty good. It's either a pretty fun TPS game or a nice open world MMO-type of thing.

Also I'm pretty sure you could map a controller to TF2 if you really wanted to. Not sure why you would though, it takes some time but keyboard and mouse are fine. Even if you don't have super great aim, just choose a non-sniper (maybe non-spy as well) class.

I liked ME3's multiplayer too but I hear a lot of criticism but it's pretty damn fun honestly if you enjoy co-op survival stuff.

I got to try RDR sometime, I've heard good things. Right now I'm gonna try getting back into Halo, see how that goes.

Yeah you should be able to use a controller for TF2. I mean, you'll probably have K/D ratio of around 1:37, but hey.

Halo isn't for everyone. Especially people without friends. If you have friends to play with, it's probably one of the funnest FPS out there for consoles. There's a lot of wacky fun shit to do in that game thanks to the Forge. Matchmaking is fun, if you have friends. By yourself you're matched with all the other solo losers against the team of friends who kick ass together, and you proceed to lose...brutally.

You don't have too many other choices on a console. When I think console multiplayer shooters, I think Halo, CoD and Gears.

PC has tons of 3PS and FPS to suggest, but I guarantee you'd just be wasting your time on a controller, if they even supported one. I'd suggest cutting the reliance on the 360 gamepad. I used to be a console gamer and I suuuucked with a mouse and keyboard...but I stuck with it and got used to it, and it was worth it.

Second for RDR, but mostly because of all of the graphical glitches and such. Sometimes it's just too funny.

I agree with Hells entirely, Halo just isn't fun by yourself and the only good way to play PC shooters is with a mouse and keyboard.

Perhaps try Spec Ops: The Line, not so much for it's multiplayer as for it's single player though. Best story for a shooter I've ever played.

Anything made by Valve pretty much and if you wanted a random suggestion I'd say Blacklight Retribution.

RDR is GTA with horses and a whole lot more dirt. Just for reference. So if you like GTA, you'll like RDR. Though as per GTA, the story isn't great. But that's a negligible fact...you wont really be playing for the story in the first place. Too busy cheating at poker and shooting up towns, western style.
EDIT: and playing a retardedly addictive dice game...or maybe it was only me that played it forever.

and, agreed with Guildy. Any Valve FPS is solid. CSS being the overall best FPS to date, still.

For a free game, Blacklight Retribution is solid. Most guns you can buy for a day with a match or two of earnings...which is WAY ahead of any other F2P FPS, not counting TF2.

Killing Floor is a COOP only multiplayer game, but it is DAMN fun. It's just dozens of people slaying waves of hundreds of zombies (and plenty of special zombies). So damn fun.

For a third person shooter, the first that comes to mind is Super Monday Night Combat. Pretty damn fun little game, and it's free too.

Oh and Mount and Blade has some decently fun multiplayer but it feels like it has a massive learning curve. Still, participating in massive battles (upwards of 100 v 100) is pretty fun. The game is laughably shit aesthetically but still very epic feeling.

Single player for the original and With Fire and Sword is also great if you enjoy super open world games like Sid Meier's Pirates!

I was gonna suggest M&B. I played that damn game for HOURS in multiplayer. It's so addictive doing 100vs100 battles.
Though it's bad when I died more to an arrow in the back of my head, as opposed to the hundred in my shield...my teammates suck.
Didn't since it wasn't a shooter though.
