+1 to Professor Layton. Probably the best series I've ever played, no joke. Excellent stories.

As for the anime, I would've suggested Fairy Tail if they didn't badly screw it up. The manga's great, but the anime is awful. Rurouni Kenshin is good both as a manga series and as an anime. Naruto (if you haven't already) is great too. A few more: Avatar and Bleach. That's about all I can suggest though.

Linkin Park is great, and should suit your mood. Try listening to 'Numb'. That's their best song in my opinion.

Anime: Steins;gate

There are hardly any (good) RPG-ish animes. Love how (almost) everyone is just suggesting random animes that don't fit the criteria at all...
All my suggestions cast aside the RPG requirement, because there really isn't much.

If you want an anime with a bunch of twists and turns, you could try Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~
I can't remember if there's blood or not, but it's about assassins...so y'know, people die. Actually i'm pretty certain there isn't much blood.
It matches nothing else but Chaos;Head has one of the most annoyingly indecisive and unsure-of-himself protagonists i've ever seen.
Madoka Magica is dark and has some preeeetty interesting twists. I swear Madoka and Sayaka could fit into the "unsure of themselves" category...but its been a while. No sexuality unless teenage magical girls turn you on.
Clannad fits if only because Nagisa is incredibly unsure of herself, for a while. It's basically the best anime out there though, story wise. It's drama/romance/comedy, dunno if that floats your boat though. No "sexuality" to speak of.

If you feel like opening up to more general suggestions I have many, many more. Though the "no blood" thing kinda puts a wrench in a lot of good animes >_>

Er...except Eternal Sonata. That's literally the only thing I can think of. The story isn't over the top amazing, but it's enjoyable.

Valkyria Chronicles.

Yeah, it's...basically the best game on the PS3. So if you own a PS3, this is your game. Limited RPG elements though, you can level up troop classes, equip different weapons and armor to a degree, customize your tank...and mix and match squad mates with various differing stats and stuff. Story is phenomenal and frankly the best i've ever seen in a game, music is quite good, and there's very, very little blood. I can only think of two instances and it's not even anything extreme. No 'sexuality', it's set during a war after all.
Only category this doesn't fit for you is the MC being unsure of himself. May be true for the anime, but Welkin is just god damn awesome in the game.

Steins;gate is made by the makers of Chaos;head, and the latter title was complete crap. Steins;gate is the spiritual successor of C;H, but bounds better.
If you like time-travel, science-fiction, and a thriller, go for it.
